w t f

Why do some of my patterns start "clicking" when I re-open a song that I've worked on?
There ARE sounds in my selection that only click when I push them, like they're non-existent, only their name is present. But after I've already created an entire pattern with a sound, save it, close out, then open the song later...a pattern will only "click"
And no, this is not any form of musical "click".....just an annoying haha-here-to-irritate-you-click.
I have to go back and find the original instrument and put it back in the pattern for it to work.
Perhaps I just need a new version of FL?!
Or something else, cuz this is driving me nuts.

FL can act funny at times. Are you saving the files as ZIPs? or just FLPs?

Good question.

I'm starting to think it's time to move on to reason

Have you bought the synths you're using?

I've never had this problem. Ever.

by "pattern" you mean preset?

i dont understand your paragraph at all

Posted by Aquarian on Dec-22-2006 05:46:

Are these VSTs, synths, or just sampled sounds?

Samples can click if you have altered the BPM sometimes.

LMFAO!

This sometimes happens if you are using a sample, which does no longer exist, or has been moved/renamed.

The Sample in question goes red in the step sequencer and then it just clicks.

Thats the only time I've ever experience this sorta issue.

I don't recall ever hearing a "click", but if the sample track is red, that means fruity could not find the sample. It's a simple matter of Fruity needing to be directed to the folder where that sample resides. Be sure you don't move a sample to another folder once you have placed it in a track. I've never had fruity forget where a sample was, so long as I didn't move it from it's original folder. Changing your folder structure will also cause fruity to lose the sample location.

Perhaps you need to upgrade your computer...

Or search for spyware with adaware and spybot, as well as doing a full virus scan and making sure that your disks aren't too close to capacity...

As a matter of fact I did have this problem once in a blue moon back in my Fruityloops days (which was well over a year ago). It only ever happened with sampled sounds, so there are no plugins applicable here whether they're paid for or not.

I'm not entirely sure what precisely FL does to cause that to happen, but if I recall correctly, it would almost always be fixed by fiddling with some of the sample parameters or closing/reopening the project. Definitely nothing to do with spyware, viruses, etc.

Although, if I've misinterpreted and this is happening with VST instruments then you'll probably want to listen to the other comments in this thread.

I've never had this problem, and I'm a fruityloops nut job! I've loved using the program since 2003. The only time I get popping and clipping with my samples is when the sample IS popping and clipping.

I'm running the program on a Dell 2400 POS as well...

is ur cpu clipping out? close all other programs that run in the background spyware etc......

if its a sample maby on reopening for some reason the sample cant be found, happened with me in battery2, really pissed me off !!

Exactly how I fixed it too.

It only ever happened to me in fruity 3 though none of the newer ones.
