Seriously, what's the deal? I don't get it.

Nothing special, but fun at a party-

All I've heard is the beatport sample, and I don't want to hear anymore.

Its like Aftermath. You hate it at home, but at the club its like wtfbbq

Hernan Cattaneo played before David Guetta at The Vanguard WITH a Funktion One system. MAAAASSSIVE track to hear out and I don't even like it that much

i think that's one of the problems with minimal, listening to a 1 minute clip isn't enough. and of course it's better in a club, all (most) music is.

personally i don't like it that much. it has that azzido da bass-thing where the bassline isn't 4/4 but more like 5/8 (or something) so maybe that's why people like it? feels like a lot of minimal tracks are doing that now ever since Tom Pooks - Pablo Assan's (which IS an amazing track).

but i haven't heard dopplewhipper out yet..

Great tune!

The wee sparkly trancey bit after about 6 mins is out of this world, hear it in a big club sound system a la space ibiz and you'll know finewell what the deal is.

Easily one of the best things gabriel ananda has done, his only better tune is raumtraum imo.

Meh - I really don't see the appeal regardless, and can't tell you how much I hate the "It goes off in a club" argument. Good tunes are good tunes.

gabriel ananda - take off is better imo 8)

totally incorrect.

Some tunes are great for home listening, for example a lot of mathew jonson stuff, but played out a lot of the time they go down like a led baloon in the club enviroment.

Some tunes are just made with the club in mind.

Apparently, it's not actually his track, just an extract from one of his sets.

It certainly sounded big when i walked into a warehouse at 4am sunday morning and there was a palm tree, some decks and DJ playing it.

But at the end of the day its musical merits are rather non existent.

Itll be forgoten by march.

Perhaps, but it's been playing since ~March of this year.

Hence the (Live) at the end of the name, it's an extract from one of his livesets with Eulberg. Probably amounts to the experience of the track in a club.

It's not great but not horrific either; I expected worse after reading some of the replies here.

before dopplewhippeer, has anyone heard any other works or projects of his? Again, this is before dopplewhipper.

harzer rollercoaster, love that collab. The thing is that some people just might not get this tune. That or they just expect huge builds, breakdowns, and what not. I think its produced brilliantly. This tune is a prime example of all genre lines being blurred..Who cares what genre one can speculate on what this is. It has been canned by the techno heads for some time now, ever since it released it started getting loads of play from non techno djs.. Its simply good music.

But I don't get Dopplewhipper. Sure, the spacey melody is cool, and I'm sure like chesco says it just resonates off the walls of a cavernous venue, but the rest of the track does very little for me.

I liked it the first time i heard it, and i still enjoy it at home (i hate the club argument as well). But im yet to hear the song used correctly, ive got it on 2 cd's and both transitions in and out arent fitting the song Sorry fanchhooleee

If I wanted to, I could call pretty much any track we play "clicks with echo effects"

And yeah, whatever, good tunes are good tunes, but it simply isnt the same when its at 140 decibels off a funktion one system, when dropped at the right time.


I'm not sitting here trying to defend this tune, I dont like it that much, but it goes off in the club, like Aftermath owns your face at 4am.
