I Love Pads!!!!!

Anyone willing to share their own one shot pads? Please no patches from automated programs like Atmosphere or dream sample cd's!

I can't do them for sh*t
Like most aspects of production still,
...off to practice some more.
Where are your samples?

Here it is: http://www.angelfire.com/psy/codeqz/simplypads.mp3 Created with an Access Virus C, it's actually made up of 2 layers, one with the filter cutoff high and the other with it the cutoff low, then I just layered them together. I just love how I got the resonance to sing.

Well being that I am in a generous mood today, what type of pads would you like and ill muster up a few. Also maybe some examples for some pads to help guide me to what you want.

So you're wanting VSTi patches, correct? "One shot" usually refers to samples, so I wasn't sure what you meant. Well anyway, I love pads too. I don't bother creating them, because the ones I buy or download are way better than anything I could come up with. I like those eleborate pads with lots going on in them, but I usually end up cutting out a few layers that I don't need.

Any pads you created yourself basically. I just want to hear others interpretations of what a pad is and how they like to make them sound.

You wouldn't happen to play Eve online by any chance?? That pad reminded me very strongly of the music in the game (great music, btw )

Here's my take on the matter:

Sorry about the low volume, this was done in a hurry...
All created with FM7 (although they're played with FM8..) - There is just nothing like evolving frequency modulation No external FX of any sort, only FM8 + internal Chorus/Delay effect (the one from FM7).

No, haven't played Eve, but it's great to know I reminded you of it! great pads ya'll, would like to hear more. The pad I created earlier was ok, I wasn't really trying to do the timing right or anything, just recorded and started playing some notes. The next one I come up I'm gonna try 6 channels of one sound cut up differently with minimal differences and some calculated movement going on, maybe some arrangement trickery as well. Can't wait to post it, peace!
