The Track That Made You! (Your All time Fav. Track)
What was the song that just rocked your socks off and made you realize you really want to start producing?
OR
What is your favorite TRACK!
For me it was the following song:
Victor Dinaire -- Lost Episode Show 66
I wouldn't say there was a specific track for me, my interest for producing just grew graduly over a long period of time. At first when I was younger it was just fooling around for fun, then it just became more serious.
EDIT. Oh, you put in another question now..
It's almost impossible for me to say one track that is the best of all time, but I gotta admit that 'Rank 1 - It's up to you (Vocal Club mix)' is one of my fav tracks ever. I love that track, and the break is to die for.
Never heard it but ill check it out.
Sorry for the change in question. you had a good reason to do so.
(insert spine-tingling tune here)
For me it's gotta be the PvD remix of Humate - Love Stimulation.. That'll take the vote for all time fave but for producing, which is a recent venture for me, the inspiration has come from the tunes played by John Digweed and Sasha at the warehouse project in manchester - I went to both gigs.. the main tune of both nights being audion - mouth to mouth - this tune really inspired me as it has a bit of everything i love about edm!!
The track that made me want to produce:
Bedrock feat. KYO - "For What You Dream Of"
Specifically the part around the 1:00 mark when that one synthesizer is by itself. I thought, "Damn, this sounds cool. I want to make something like this."
Oceanlab - "Satellite" is my favorite I think.
I've wanted to produce for as long as I remember so I don't know about that one.
Track that made me interested in using Computer to make music in general:
[Insert video game music that I liked in 2003]
Tracks that made me want to produce trance:
Trance[]Control - Euphoria
Trance[]Control - Progression
pretty much any of the tracks from "Mezzenaine" Massive Attack!
Alone tonight by above & beyond, when it got to the breakdown, it just sent my mouth agape
Cafe Del Mar Energy 52 converted me to Trance (Both Nalin & Kane & 3 in one mixes rocked)
Breeder - Twilo Thunder set a whole new standard for solid more proggy production
Bedrock - Heaven Scent Blew my mind
and I shamefully and secretly love any of the Binary finary 1998, 1999, 2000 tracks
This might seem a bit boaring, but my top 10 tracks are:
Edit: On GOLD position i must say York - Reachers of Civilization(Rank 1 remix), what a woderful track
1)Rank 1 - Airwave
2)Delerium - Silence (Tiesto remix)
3)Dumonde - God music
4)Alphazone - Revelations
5)Cygnus X - Superstrings
6)Goryella - Walhalla
7)Veracocha - Carte balnche
8)Blank and Jones - D.f.f (Wippenberg remix)
9)Blank and Jones - Nightclubber
10)Marc dawn - Expander
Oh.. damn it.. and offcourse: Binay Finary - 98 - 99 - 00.. so make that my top 11... i think i could go on with more, but these are the ones that make my world rock and brings some really nice memories back..ahhhh.. Ibiza and Agia Napa, i miss you
Hope i got that right... correct me if i wrote something wrong!
Cheers
C
my fav track that i would love to someday remix would have to be...
dutchforce-deadline
the break has so much emotion and uplift but yet so simple!
The George Acosta - Awake album blew my mind back in the day. I must have listened to that album 500 times and never got tired of it.
It sounds old and cheesy to me now but it was my first trance album and I loved it.
Early belgian stuff like fiocco - afflito, ydr's the rebel and phiphi's jezus trip
The number one old-school Gabber track, D.O.A. - NYC Speedcore.

(Has a sweary word in it!)
Quite a few of todays trance producers started off in Gabber/Hardcore e.g. Piet Bervoets (Dyewitness for Hardcore, Rank 1 for Trance).
Then the obvious tracks like Cafe Del Mar and Out Of The Blue inspired me to make trance.
When it comes to my favourite trance tune it's a tough call between Sienna - Arcs In Circles and G-2000 - Millennium (DJ Alici Mix). Sienna wins it though.
I love the 99/2000 anthemic sound but tend to look for the more obscure ones like I just mentioned. Camisra - It's Alright (Tobacco Boys Remix), Trevor Reilly - Down With The Underground and Florian F - Surreal Brazil are also perfect examples.
gotta be some of the kai tracid tunes

i have to say above and beyond - can't sleep
my definition of perfect producers is: above and beyond..my goal is to get my self to their level with in the next 2-3 years..
Not any one track inspiried me, but I have a lot of favorite tracks. So many to list but here are a few:
1. Doi-oing - Blue
2. Spooky - Little Bullet (live mix)
3. Underworld - Cowgirl/Rez
4. Fluke - Groovy Feeling
5. Leftfield - Song for Life (one of my favorite bass lines ever)
6. Sasha/BT - Heart of Imagination
7. Wild Colour - Dreams (bt's circadian dream mix) (One of BT's most inspired pieces)
8. Lost Tribe - Gamemaster
9. Space Manouevres - Stage One (all mixes)
10. Symbiosis - Of The Spirit, Of The Mind
11. Hope - Tree Frog (trance mix) (something about the bass line in this track just speaks to me).
12. Tenth Chapter - Wired
I could list probably 50 more. As you can see, most of my favorite stuff is from the early to mid 90's. When I think of trance, these are the tunes that come to mind, although it's classified as more "progressive" by today's standards.
I have to give it up for Northern Exposure II: East Coast, one of my favorite mixed CD's.
Jam & Spoon - Stella

this is my all time favorite trance track ever without a doubt.
Systematic Parts - Deja Vu
Gouryella - Gouryella (sounds outdated now, but i remember loving it to death and always trying to sound like it)
Synaesthesia by the Thrillseekers, I loved this song so much that I learned how to play every piece from every remix, then with very little FL Studio experience I made a remix. That was about 3 years ago when i did all of that.
there are too many songs to list that have made me want to get started, but as of late
Karen Overton - In Your Loving Arms
trance[]control - dream of trance
