Cubase and Nord Lead 2x

Hay ppl's,
Would anyone be able to help me with clock syncing a nord lead 2x to cubase SX3. I am a total noob at this and would love some help pretty please.

Cheers

hay press f4 and add it as an external instrument and put in the predelay, you then press f11 and open like a vst.

f4 gave me a window with for adding buses for input, output, gruop/fx, external fx and studio. do i use one of these?

Posted by mysticalninja on Jan-02-2007 07:13:

there should be a tab for External Instruments too.

Posted by Treadgold on Jan-02-2007 07:14:

Nah there isn't ay. is there anyother way i can do it?

The SX v3.1.1.944 update added the external instruments feature. If you are using this latest version then you'll have to contact steinberg to find out why it's not there.

Actually, when I think about it this will fix latency issues but if you want to sync because of midi drift then this will make no difference. My Virus Classic drifts out of sync and it's doing my nut in. I haven't looked into fixing it yet but I'm hoping the sync card with my EMU 1820M will sort it somehow.

Thank you guys so much for your help. This forum has been the most helpfull place for these types of questions for me and it is because of you.

Thanks again.

what did people do before external instruments??

Posted by Treadgold on Jan-02-2007 08:27:

they went to transport and down to sync setup. Assign the midi clock destination to the desired midi port and your away.

Wasn't that hard i guess, just seems like a issue when ya don't know too much about it.

Thanks again

No problemo, seems what you just said will sort my problem too hopefully.

EDIT: Aha, the magic 'C' appears on my virus LCD. Happy days.

Sweet we are all happy about that i rekon hehe.

Posted by Synchronicity on Jan-02-2007 08:48:

Well unfortunately it looks like I spoke too soon, it just went out of time again. I'm back to being pissed off again.

Ah dam. Try using the timecode clock instead of the midi clock

Posted by Synchronicity on Jan-02-2007 10:46:

Hehe, I did try that actually and, dare I say it, it seems to be working.

I have the timecode and the midi clock running. I don't know if I'm supposed to do both or not, I'm new to this. On my soundcards breakout box 'out' is illuminated under SMPTE when cubase plays, I'm sure it never done that before. I don't know if it's a placebo but the virus playback seems tighter as well.

I'm so glad this thread came up, thanks Treadgold.

I'm glad to bro. Good luck with everything. Maybe we can stay in contact some how and help each other out?
