Crashbase SX 3...i get so many crashes how about you?

When I work on a track I sometimes end up at like backup 08 or 09...is it because I am running AMD and it is not widely supported by steinberg?
I dont remember getting this many crashes with my Celeron.

I have the latest update and everything? I would consider moving to Logic but I'm on Pc and I don't like using redundant sequencers.

No problems here with an Athlon 64 (single core).

The hardware dongle is quite buggy... "fixing" that may solve some of your problems.

Could be other things - bad memory and the like. Have you tried running Prime95 and Memtest86 to rule out any hardware issues? You're not overclocking or using any other risky tweaks, are you?

WEll I haven't tried any of that but as to the hardware dongle..I dont have one...I'm using the H2O rip..and YES I am admitting that...because I worked for steinberg music marketing and never got paid. SO they owe me money..I'm not about to get fucked twice. Screw them.

Its not the h20 version either...this version is actually more stable then the original. There is only one major problem with this version and its the timestretching..when u use the mpex algorithm it crashes.

Haha, doesn't sound so stable to me! Seems like we've found the root of your problem, now fix it.

its obviously the h20 emulator of the dongle

get the real one

get the sx3.1.1 release

Posted by BOOsTER on Jan-11-2007 15:37:

as far as I've heard, the dongle is extremely buggy and many users of SX use H20 release of 3.1.1 just because it's by far more stable....

at least that's what I've been told :-)

i use Cubase 4 and SX3 (both with the original dongle) and it runs stable for me!

I've not ever used Qbase...but this is what I've been told...I dunno

just thought the info might be usefull

No way will I pay those bastards..they didn't pay me for my work...why should I pay them for theirs.

i wish Logic worked on a pc I would invest in their technology.

Normally good advice, except the H20 "dongle" is actually less buggy than the hardware. Many paying customers use it for that very reason.

Seems like you have some kind of mismatch in your hardware setup, have you tried running a memtest to check up your memory?

I'm running Cubase SX 3 together with a Socket 939 AMD Opteron 165, 1 gig of Geil One S memory on a DFI mobo and it has never crashed on me once...

cubase crashes a lot for me on dirty project files - usually project files where i've reinstalled windows/cubase at some point.

project files ive made on THAT copy, without uninstalling any vsts etc. never crash.
