I Converted this to mp3 ,32mins each side ,id this mix..

nope ,just says on the inlay (Paul Oakenfold Reacorded Live from Original Dat ) the inlay pic in the zip with the 2 mp3s side 1 & 2
256 q -converted with sony soundforge 8.0b


not a uplifting mix but 1 of many mixes i am willing to convert from tape & upload ..next mix be a star x2 mix from Sasha 2 tapes..good mix..

p.s got around 45 more dat tapes of oakey ..loads of sasha & diggers

none of them been posted on the net.

last one i posted was the house masters presents paul oakenfold
uplifting house & trance.

i'm just skimming through part 1 and it's got ubik about 2-3 tracks in so it's most likely a '99-'00 tape.

first track sounds like a tastexperience joint but not one of oakey's usual openers from that time...

what u think ..should i convert the mp3s to 192 or 128 q ? next time?

since the quality of tapes is so wank, 256 does seem like a waste of space -- 192 and lower should be fine, along with anything your software offers to reduce hissing and things of that sort.

I got a rare dat tape from Oakenfod at 'Chuff Chuff' 22nd Nov 1992 that I never seen available anywhere - will look at converting this and getting it posted.

Can you guys pm me your email addys, and I will coordinate all these tapes, so we can can get them ripped and up.

I have about 15-20 as well, and I am sure a lot of our tapes are over laping. I can take turns converting, and we can see who has better copies of the tapes.

Hm, that would be great! The oldest available Oakie's stuff is, as far as I know, from 1993 (Essential Mix). Never came across this recording you're talking about.

OK so I encoded the Oakie 'chuff chuff' set from 1992 and I'm gonna upload it somewhere so it's available - never done this before but I'll try to figure out mega upload and paste the link soon....

also can you guys PLEASE rip all of these and up them.. are they really DAT tapes? if so, why would the quality be shit... shouldn't they be pretty darn good if DAT?
