Daif Records : dan-j remix comp...

we have just announced our first remix competition for dan-j's 'a lonely world'! Prizes include getting your remix released in the single on over 30 different shops around the world, 1 month's free PromoPool access, and as a final treat, it will be included our end of march radio show 'from trance till dawn' featured on radihitec.nl & liquid.fm, now how awsome is that!!!! To enter, all you need to do is head over to the following url:

http://daifrecords.com/remix.php

Once there you will be able to download the remix pack, and also get instructions on how to send
your remix to us, ALL genre's are excepted, so if you want to do a rock remix, or even chillout (if thats
the way you swing), remember the winner will have their track released! so make sure to put as much
effort into it as possible

Competition ends 15/04 and winners will be announced & contacted on Wednesday 25/04 so make sure to
get your remixes in before then!!!

The remix pack download link doesn't work and the spelling/grammar on your website is absolutely shocking... might be worth sorting out if you want to be taken seriously!

Does anyone think some of these daily remix comps are just ways to get cheap remixes for the release?

I don't really trust that kind of remix comps even. They can run away without giving you shit on the effort you spent and noone will do noting about it...

We are sorry you feel this way, our aim is to scout for new talent through this competition, not to run away with material. As this is a first trial idea for us, we still think that the winner will be more than satisfied with the full remix contract they will get before their material is used

Our label (on nearly every track) hosts remixes from in-house remixers, and on this release in particular we already have remixes in final development from 3 artists we are proud of: 'Trancepulse Inc', 'Joakim Daif' & 'Accentius'. If we did'nt attempt to broaden our search for talent in all directions, then how narrow minded would we be we accept people will be jubious about our intentions, and fair game, but at the end of the day we just want to see what is out there, and we wont appologise for that.

The site has had alot of visitors recently so please try again if it dose not work the first time, and we appologise for the spelling & grammer :S will sort out asap.

We know there are alot of talented artists/remixers out there not getting the attention they deserve as each one of us at the label used to be in the same situation! Lets see if we can give someone else a chance to make it

Thanks

I wanted to say that i love how they handled that professionally. I for one will download and give it a go. pz

Okay... when I try to download this, it closes my internet explorer window.

What gives?

Can you fix this please; upload the remix pack to rapidshare or something maybe, or give a more direct link to the file.

A midi file is the best possible thing they can give you? what did you expect?

or did you want all the samples in loop format so you can add an ejay sample here and there and send them back the same thing as the original?

shit prizes so the remix gets released in 30 shops woopy doo. so it sells like fuck and you make the profit through the remixers name who realistically gets fuck all out of this. these kind of remix comps rip up and coming producers off.

to correctly rmx a track you should use a few wav samples in amongst your own sound. otherwise the rmx usually ends up sounding like a modified version of one of your own tracks. the rmx always looses the feel of the original when people are able to just load up a midi file and set up a few different synths.

about using a rmx cometition to find talent. you will more than likely end up with a handful of rmx's that are at a quality for release but the majority will not be made to a high enough standard.

even if you end up with lots of good rmx's, the chances that one of them will fit the label/release is very low.

i recon the best place to go to look for rmxers is myspace. 1 hour of listening to artists on there will be enough for you to find the perfect artist/rmxer.

I didn't know there was a "correct" and "incorrect" way to remix something.

well now you do

im sick of hearing all these people blasting on about needing a midi to rmx a track..

it is not hard to replay a melody using a keyboard..

yeah. right. it prolly sounds better if you make the same melody yourself. makes a huge different too.

Anyways, This track is really, reeeaally bad. overused cheese sounds, melodies and synths.. sounds like DJ Alligator, only worse.
