MOTU Ultralite and a P.C.

hey guys just got my new motu ultralite(and my virus ti) in the mail today. i'm 6 years old at christmas again... however...

control panel -> sounds doesn't recognize my MOTU controller. it doesn't list anything but my modem speaker.

in ableton though, the motu is listed under ASIO(as usual)... i'm wondering if i might be missing a step here and why i can't get windows to recognize it?

I'm assuming you've installed the supplied drivers? What firmware is installed on the UltraLite. I've heard of nasty firmware update mishaps in recent history from MOTU, including no longer being recognized by the machine.

Did you get it new, or used from someone?

From some hunting I got these. Although you may just say "uhh... yeah dude, already tried that," it's the thought that counts.

Some generic advice from MOTU's site:

Once you get it going, this might help as well:

Ditto on the drivers. The Firewire/USB drivers have a WDM driver, that's what will get it to appear in ordinary Windows apps.
