Sasha and C.O.M.A - Details!

quote:
Sasha launches brand new label Emfire

Sasha is delighted to announce the launch of a brand new label. Titled Emfire, the imprint will be an exclusive outlet for his own material, which has been co-produced with his renowned collective Charlie May, Duncan Forbes and Barry Jamieson, aka COMA, a pseudonym that also provides the title for the first release. Its been exciting getting back in the studio again after a hiatus. I am looking forward to using this new imprint as a vehicle to release my own music as well as signing great forward thinking music from other producers.

The label will focus on digital and vinyl and feature a strong, continuous graphic foundation; running from release to release, a colour-coded, graded spectrum will marry to a numeric sequence. Insect, best known for their recent work with Banksy, are handling the art direction, We want it to be simple, beautiful and collectable, particularly in terms of the vinyl, expands Sasha.

True to his word, 3 forthcoming Sasha tracks will be released as a limited, one-sided etched 12 and across all good digital servers on a monthly basis, starting with the aforementioned Coma in October. Stay tuned to djsasha.com for further information

I'm sure the vinyl will look great hanging on the wall

Logo, maybe

I don't like that logo.

Neither do I, not sure if it the one though. I just tried out URLs containing emFire and this is the only one that worked.

EDIT: That is the real logo, confirmed by Progressive-Sounds

Glad you like it Greg!

Yeah, wow. For a label shooting for simplicity, that logo is a step in the wrong, wrong, wrong direction.

Fuck, it's only in black and white and I'm already terribly confused!

Forward-thinking, huh...

COMA is a really cool track

Sample?

What's the source?

And who fucking cares about the logo? At least he's releasing something again.

I'll cut some out of the bonnaroo set and upload it. You probably wont like it much, but it's one of the better tracks I've heard in a while.

Posted by Clovis on Aug-22-2007 02:26:

Alright, well it looks like what I thought was COMA - COMA in that set has now been id'd as something else, so maybe the track does suck. Sorry distant

It's going to be on the upcoming Digweed CD, so I guess we'll hear it then.

I really don't think anyone does.

artwork is not important?

Not for 1 logo, and no, not as much as the music is.

Posted by jupiterone on Aug-22-2007 03:17:

It's not that big of a deal but with how nasty that Coma track is you'd think the logo would be a bit more...artistic

No that's not quite what I meant, it's simply irrelevant to my enjoyment of music.
