That's a great idea, George! This thread is now a sticky and references to other members were removed (I did it as a precaution, this thread has no use for drama ).

Originally posted by Q5echo i'm sorry but Drudge is an equal opportunity offender. "opportunist" being the operative word. don't get me wrong, i slant right and i visit his site almost everyday but he'll out anybody if he see's the moment to do so. |

Originally posted by Lesbianosaur Same with HuffPo, but if you look at what commentators he links to, you'll see where the bias lies. There's a reason Drudge has a mostly conservative readership and Huffington has a mostly liberal one, and I don't think it has so much to do with the topics or the news as the sources and the editorializing that accompanies them. |

I find www.reuters.com to be relatively unbiased. For the russian side of the story there's http://en.rian.ru. Most others already mentioned..
Media sources are objects that generate media data in the Media Foundation pipeline. This section describes the media source APIs in detail. Read this section if you are implementing a custom media source, or using a media source outside of the Media Foundation pipeline.
If your application uses the control layer, it needs to use only a limited subset of the media source APIs. For information, see the topic Using Media Sources with the Media Session.

Hers we should do some talk on media too. There is no doubt that media has become the forth pillar of a state. But its my perception that despite of it media is not free from governments influence. There should be some monitory rules for media but let him work independently.
The word "source" as used on Wikipedia has three related meanings: the piece of work itself (the article, book), the creator of the work (the writer, journalist), and the publisher of the work (for example The New York Times, Cambridge University Press, etc.). All three can affect reliability. Reliable sources may be published materials with a reliable publication process, authors who are regarded as authoritative in relation to the subject, or both.
The reliability of a source depends on context. Each source must be carefully weighed to judge whether it is reliable for the statement being made and is the best such source for that context. In general, the more people engaged in checking facts, analyzing legal issues, and scrutinizing the writing, the more reliable the publication. Sources should directly support the information as it is presented in an article, and should be appropriate to the claims made. If a topic has no reliable sources, Wikipedia should not have an article on it.
