WASHINGTON - A large U.S. spy satellite has lost power and propulsion and could hit the Earth in late February or March, government officials said Saturday.

The satellite, which no longer can be controlled, could contain hazardous materials, and it is unknown where on the planet it might come down, they said. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the information is classified as secret.

Ok looks like Bruce Willis has a new mission. Since Armageddon he is responsable for any foreign object falling from the sky.

You're half a world away, but in my mind I still whisper every single word you say...

You're a third of a world away, but in my mind I still whisper every single word you say...

You're 600 feet away, but in my mind I still whisper every single word you say...

(This seemed like a funny idea before I started writing it, as I continued, I'm starting to realize such is not the case.)

I don't know why, but I read the thread title as, "start wearing your santa hats."

Posted by Zharen on Jan-27-2008 11:11:

If the satellite falls on a country that we don't like, then I wonder if this might actually trigger a war. That would be a first.

Seriously though, I've been concerned with all the junk that gets left up in orbit. Seems like we started polluting space as well.
