Worm Popper [Request] Paul Oakenfold - Perfecto on Tour 73

Finally, probably we will have a real new PoT today. Please, we need to hear that Oakey has left some boring tunes behind him, and try new stuff. We pray for new material. And by the way, I give my most deep thanks to Matt Darey, who talk with Oakenfold about all this, after I left a message in his page some days ago, after left some similar messages in Oakey's page. Thanks a lot Matt, you're my hero!!

I was only kidding. It is so obvious that Oakenfold wants really hard to reach a new low on the worst single mistake by a pro DJ, and we only can guess how deep he try to get. A friend told my, as a joke, that maybe Oakenfold it was very boring because is very hard today looking for new tracks. I only can laugh too loud by her comment. And it no matter how many comments you post in his web page, he doesn't read anything. Probably his moronics assistants only work as a contention wall. What a shame.

I think you must point your joy and enthusiasm to another DJ. Oakenfold will never read a message like this, and as a matter of fact, he never read any message that someone left in his page. I'm get tired to leave him messages in his page critizasing that he has reach 6 shows repetead same stupid show in a row, and it is so obvious that he can't read all messages that people let there (and almost all the messages are written by absolute morons, that only jump and say the most boring things I have ever seen) that you must forget about of this request for a while. If you accept some kind of suggestion, you better hear some other DJ, like Matt Darey or Kenneth Thomas. Or, if you want to go a little deeper, you must go to house genre, and look for Digweed or Deep Dish or Dave Seaman sets (or even deeper, there are many amazing unknown DJs, someoene like Martinez and a set in Paris really amazing, or a set by James Holden or... etc.). You probably find more interesting things in that, that in Oakenfold right now. That's what I'm doing right now: fogetting of Oakenfold. Sorry, but this is real.

As I sayed, you need to listen new DJs. I recommended this page: http://www.club246.com/executivemix/
Listen DJ Manolo, who, as we say in Mexico, is my tocayo and have a great set, a little housie, but anyway its great. Wanna download what you hear? Just click on arrow on the right, and set will download.
Its good to hear some new mixes and tunes from other people. Great surprises here.

Without any intention of disrespect to you, I seriously think that you need to be more critic with what you hear. Oakenfold is not a God, and is by far not the number one DJ in the world. You need to listen more DJs, and probably also more music, and not only electronic. Please, grow up!!

Surely everyone is entitled to their own opinions??

I used to rate Oakey as #1 in the mid to late 90s, although many disagreed. It's all about personal tastes and that differs from person to person.

I don't rate Oakenfold as being that good these days for many reasons but some people still do and that's fine by me.

Also, with regards to the Perfecto On Tour mixes (68,70,71,72,73,74)...I can't see why people are blaming Oakey for that. He doesn't control the radio station who are quite obviously rebroadcasting the mix under a different name each week.

However, I do agree he needs to start playing some fresh tracks.....in his position, he has access to so much new material which is making other djs playlist so why is he choosing to ignore it?

I do have my doubts about the authenticity of some of these Perfecto On Tour mixes. So many people have said they were present at some of the venues and Oakenfold played a completely different set to the one broadcast on Sirius. Maybe Oakey is making them in his own time or perhaps one of his 'assistants' is putting them together for him?? I have enjoyed quite a few of the mixes though, some have been outstanding....I just think a little clarity is required to determine originality etc.

Yes, you have right in what you say. I think that someone in Oakeys position has many chances to get all kind of new musical material. Why is he doing this awful sets from months is a mistery for me. Yes, all these sets are mixed by him in person. Just check it out how it blends one tune after another, and you realize that this blend has his signature. The only one responsible for what happened is Oakenfold. And his team. I wouldn't blame Sirius, because they played what Oakenfold's tema gives to broadcast.

And what you say about the dates and places is, again, something that several in this forum has pointed out, because PoT is a weekly radio show, not a real broadcast from a live concert. Thats another thing that we all are claiming. We need to listen real live sets, and not always studio sets, that are all prepared with anticipation. Its incredible that only Oakenfold its drowned in this awful situation. There is no one single other DJ that has the same problem with its job. And Oakenfold continue travelling the world as if nothing happens. Its a shame.
