so after listening to the broadcast show I can conclusively say that this show bears little-to-no resemblence to the set that was actually played on the night (the official speal is that this is a recording of the live show with the odd track edited or replaced). will start to put a tracklist together for the broadcast show...

not a single track from the night was in this set - so how does that give a true representation of the night???

for me these sets are now just a dissapointment, not because they are bad in any real way but because they are billed as being a representation of the night and bear no resemblence to the tracks that were played.

IMO oakenfold is and always will be about the tracks (ok so his mixing can sometimes be a bit 'meh', but I don't go to a club to judge a dj's technical ability because I'm too busy having making sure I have a good night).

I honestly don't think these sets and the way they are billed are oakenfolds fault. I question how much input oakenfold actually has to these sets as I believe they are mixed in a studio somewhere using ableton and an outdated collection of tracks that oakenfold may have used at some point in the past.

Many of us has made the comparison and I think is incredible that every week there is some dude that has just discover that PoT is not a live show, and yada yada yada... Anyway, I think there are many of them that are really enjoyable, and the work put on set the TL made by Leonsv, BloodlustShaman and Made to Live is amazing. I always thanks them for their job, so simply enjoy the music.

I think you totally misunderstood the point I'm trying to make regarding these sets...

YES the authenticity of these sets have been spoken about many times and it can categorically be said that these sets are NOT live (let that be the final word on this subject :-).

However these sets are stated to be a 'representation' of the night that it references, and to quote from the 'disclaimer' at the end of the show:

'Perfecto On Tour is aired as originally performed, but may be edited for time and (on occasion) unreleased tracks or degraded audio may be removed or replaced'

Now by what stretch of the imagination is the show broadcast a representation of that which was originally performed? Take a look at the track listing of the live show and the broadcast and show me any resemblance between the two.

I'm not taking anthing away from these sets as they stand a good sets in their own right. But as a fan of oakenfold (which I don't mind admitting too regardless of the general opinion on here) I was hoping to hear some of the tracks from the night again....

I got it. I understand your point. And concerning that, the only thing I only can say for you is that PoT are not even close of real live shows. Yous example is valid, but there are at least two sets from PoT that was labeled as some shows that indeed we have a real live set, i.e. Perfecto on Tour 027, Tsekh Music Festival, St. Petersburg and Perfecto on Tour 031, Ultra Music Festival, Miami, both from 2007, to which correspond two real live sets that are so far away from what Sirius broadcasted. But this is something which happens with many other DJs and there is no such a noise talk about it. Even when I understand your disagree and pist off, its not pretty much more what I can tell you, just add that I'm sorry too that PoT are not representing of live sets or great nights. Sorry!

FANTASTIC REMIX WHO ARE FOR?

THERE IS A NEW CD????

OAKENFOLD IS THE BEST

Look for big things to start in September with regards to Paul and Perfecto Records. Perfecto Digital has recently been developed and they've sign many artists. Off the top of my head Joey Modus, Robert Vadney, Adam White, .....There's more. (Don't think I'd consider Kenneth Thomas "new")

I can tell you there IS going to be a release for sleeping satellite and obsessions ( I don't know if the Kenneth Thomas remix for Sleeping Satellite will be released but I do know who the remixers are and I can tell you they rock major ass. I'm sure Kenneth's version will get the release too). I don't want to get into too many details because they don't belong on a public board. Just look out in September and as August begins to approach and Oakey readys for his Vegas Residency he'll have a huge collection of tracks.

Pay specific close attention to a group called "The Fraction" - They are a major up & coming trio (Add them on myspace, http://www.myspace.com/thefraction) Some members of The Fraction go back, way back, to when Paul was touring in the late 1999's (I have the memory of an elephant). One of the guys from Fraction had a tune played in the 1999 Miami Essential Mix. I'll let you guys figure that one out Ashley Lawson handles the vocals and she does a great job. The third producer in the trio is Stephen Schroeder. He has a ton of experience and brings a lot to the table.

Finally, I would really encourage you guys to check out their upcoming releases. I am no shill. I don't know any of the artists from Fraction or even Perfecto Records for that matter, but I absolutely love the music the Fraction is putting together and the more support they get the better.

Cheers!

In Perfecto Digital they release Adam White's song 'Chimera' with his Original,Intro, and two remixes from some other guys.

I liked the Swedish Egil remix

EVERYONE IS now aware that the shows aren't from the night in question.

I'm just glad that I get to see what Oakey is playing.

Think of ALL the records from back in the day, that are now lost.

If your posting on here, it may well have been the Best tune you will now never see.

On my subject however...I might be finding out what THAT unknown track 9 is from Shanghai 99. From a very reliable source. Will keep you posted

Things I wish Perfecto would hurry up & release:

Kenneth Thomas - Wish You Were Here (I've been informed the sample HAS been cleared and it will be released, Perfecto have just been waiting for remixes)

Liam Shachar - Dust (2yrs & waiting now??)

Bad Apples - Get It On (Again, been informed it will be released later this yr)

Jan Johnston - Sleeping Satellite (hopefully if what was said above was true it'll be out soon?)

Also after the remixes / updates of Krystal - Burning Flame, Stoneproof - Everythings Not You, Nat Monday - Waiting, Oakenfold - Hypnotised, Oakenfold - Vunerable & Mekka - Diamondback that seem to be on his playlists..

Also been informed that BT - Dreaming will be the next one to get the Perfecto remix treatment...

Posted by KennethThomas on Oct-11-2008 17:24:

hey bro, Glad you are looking forward to the upcoming releases.

You are correct, we are just now getting remixes done on Wish You Were Here, the sample actually wasnt cleared which was a big part of the delay on the project, so we had Colleen Riley cover the vocals. I think she did a great job and without her this project would have never seen the light of day other then as a bootleg.

Not actually sure about Dust, however looking at the schedule Liam has a track called Aura coming out the first of next year. The Bad Apples track I dont see on the release schedule either but you are correct, we are gearing up to release Jans' Sleeping Satellite.

Hope the info helps
