25 YR OLD NORWEGIAN GUY ON THE DECKS - wav download

Hi!

I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since my last mix! I started compiling this one in June, then finally got around to finishing it now. I don't think any of the tracks are overplayed or anything.

This is a 3 hour mix that starts out with some quirky jazzy stuff, then gets more techy, then gets quite tribal sounding, then pretty techno ending with some trippy tracks.

Tracklist:

02 Onur zer - Terpsichorean
03 DOP - Zero Zero
04 Nze - Ethiopo
05 Frivolous - Island of sanctity (V2 Edit)
06 Heartz 4 - Some do fine
07 Mirco Violi - Yeah + Luka & Lazo - Rare Error
08 Antislash - Century 51

15 Conrad Schnitzler - 0034600380 (Bruno Pronsato Remix)
16 Audio Werner - Moved

Tracklist looks excellent.

I'll give it a download and listen when I get in from work.

I nearly skipped this for actually thinking it would be a wav file

Get the fuck in.

Tracklist looks absolutely immense.

took you long enough.

Thoroughly enjoyed this up to around Garnier, loads of variation rhythmically and groovy as hell. After that it gets a bit too anonymous and plodding for my tastes, and I found it hard to retain my interest. It picks up again towards the end, however, and as a whole, the set retains the jangling "skrangletechno"-vibe that always sets you slightly apart from the legion of other DJs who play this stuff these days. Good work sir.

This will accompany me nicely on my 3 hour train ride tonight.

Yeah right, I bet your girlfriend just let you pick the tracks.

just got through it. very hit and miss on the track selection for me. i'd find myself liking almost every other tune at times. At the beginning there was a stretch of 5 good ones before it got somewhat simplistic and boring. I remember there was an especially annoying track with nothing but percussion, some off-tempo sax and maybe off-key twinkling of the piano... yeah I fast-forwarded.

I guess I understand that some of it supposed to be "out there" or "different" or however you want to classify it, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe a producer was trying to be all experimental and hip but came off like a douche... Like that kid at the club that smells and no one likes, but he sure can dance.

The mixing was solid as hell, of course only to be expected from you. There was a part towards the last 3rd or so of the mix (didn't really have a chance to follow the tracklisting) that picked it up with a string of solid tunes that had a little more composure and melody. Really enjoyed this part.

I'd say my favorite was the track early on with some black dude humming, then an abrupt cut-off on the humming and just straight groove for a bit, then he talked about some shit. If I had to guess it was probably the Noze track.

I'm sure I'll give this another one or two listens, but I can honestly say the 2005 version was much better delivered. Some of these tracks are definitely getting picked up by me and put in rotation.

Cheers.

edit: not the Noze track. Island of Sanctity track is the one I'm talking about. totally love it.

Ha, cute thread title.

What happened to the 23YR OLD SCOTTISH LASS ON THE DECKS?

The last set I have by you, Haakakakakanaan, is December 2005. Whoa!

DLing now. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks alot for the feedback, guys. Seems like the first part hit home the best. I can see why some of the stuff might bore you, maybe the flow is a bit awkward from the first half to the second half, I don't know. Tbh, I haven't listened to it that many times from beginning to end . Out of curiousity, I'd love to know what track that really annoying one is, denys.

Posted by Ted Promo on Oct-02-2008 10:25:

in on it. Could use more Angello.

Well I've already stashed DOP - Zero Zero and got the whole Island of Sanctity release. There's a gem of an Acoustic Version on it! Love both of those tracks in your set.

I gave this a "one more over" at work yesterday. It got a little better though I really focused on the latter tracks. There's some gems I'll try to figure out in there. I'll figure out what that one track is sometime today as I'm sure I'll have my iPod on most of the time.

i liked this through & through, pure rocking technogrooves. the herbie hancock track in the end was awesome

Posted by Clovis on Oct-09-2008 00:10:

Alice You Need Him into Herbie wins most interesting transition I've seen in recent times.

I've only listened to sections of this, but I plan on eating some leftover mushrooms tomorrow and listening to the whole. My kind of music. You always play a couple of tunes that I also drop but dont get much attention from anyone else it seems.

Posted by Adam420 on Oct-09-2008 19:30:

I like the tracklist a lot, so I'll download it now. Hope your mixing is good!

Posted by denys envy on Oct-17-2008 17:22:

by the way, that track that annoyed me comes right after my favorite of the whole set (somewhat ironic i think) - Heartz 4 - Some Do Fine

Posted by Az on Dec-12-2008 17:47:

best mix I've heard in ages, gonna be pestering you for some of these tunes later on..

Posted by Clovis on Dec-13-2008 01:16:

Yeah this is really good Haak-o

Finished any music lately?

Posted by Teezdalien on Dec-13-2008 02:32:
