-- Stinging Nettle

Posted by kadomony on Jun-10-2009 12:11:

The stinging nettle only
Will still be found to stand:
The numberless, the lonely,
The thronger of the land,
The leaf that hurts the hand.

That thrives, come sun, come showers;
Blow east, blow west, it springs;
It peoples towns, and towers
Above the courts of Kings,
And touch it and it stings.

verily!

Wash it well my friend, for someone might have urinated on it.

Put on some Hydrocortisone, seems like that would be good for anti-itch purposes. Unless you want to look for some horsetail/jewelweed/unicorn-piss or something. What's the purpose of this thread again?

Posted by Knowland on Jun-10-2009 12:57:

do I be google or what?

I think you've had more herbs than we can handle.

Just take some friggin ibuprofen. Jesus. Or if you prefer a natural remedy, get yourself some Traumeel...or anything with arnica in it. Witch hazel might help too.

I actually do like your avatar though. I am a big fan of religious imagery.

You know, I am actually going to download that album later.

Should blend it and add to fruit juice. There's a juice co here that makes a blend with nettle.. and it tastes ok: http://www.emmaandtom.com/greenp.html

Try to get us some pictures of the nettle in its wild environment and document the location. Then post those on here.

Do you think it is Cnidoscolus texanus (Texas Bullnettle)?

I highly doubt you would be eating Cnidoscolus texanus unless you harvested ONLY the seeds.

Past that if you are eating Cnidoscolus texanus you are fucking crazy. No joke what so ever.

You should be more detailed about what you are actually eating so that we may be enlightened rather than leaving us in the lost vagueness of the words, "Stinging Nettle."

This is still vague, i'd like some more specifics as to what type of "Stinging nettle," you are actually consuming.
