What's up with CIRCA's web site?

just happened to surf over to CIRCA's web site today to see what's happening over there lately, and saw this:

This notice is provided due to non-payment. The present arrearage is in the amount of $45,271.89 for unpaid invoices dating back over twelve months to June 1, 2008. You may redeem site reactivation immediately upon 75% payment of said arrears. In the event you fail to bring your payments current, we shall take legal action to recover all accounts receivable.

Wow, they're paying over $3500 per month to host a web site? Ripoff!

they have been in financial trouble for quite some time already.

edit: thats probably for the original design, hosting and weekly updates.

Wow.. I find that to be highly unnecessary. They could have just as easily shut the site down stating "under construction".

The amount of detail that's posted really surprises me.

Would anyone be surprised if Circa was in financial trouble....how many clubs can you put in the same location before they realize it just won't work.

why? simple. they are pissed.
if someone owed me that much money and still kept postponing payment by avoiding my calls then you can bet i would make the world know what is going on.

fuck.. if i was getting charged 45 grand for the design and hosting of a website for a nightclub, i wouldn't pay either

though i wouldn't have agreed to that in the first place

there's only been one other club in that space... so is the answer one?

Unprofessional indeed. The only reason I can see why someone would do that is if they've been trying to get a hold of Circa Management by every other method imaginable and they felt that was the only way they'd pay attention. Regardless, still not good business practice.

Could be a privacy issue for them to post that much infor. If there has been no statement of claim issued against circa, that's one thing. Once it's in the courts it's public information as far as I know.

If you're not paying your mastercard bill, the bank cant come and stick a poster on house saying who you are, who you owe and how much. That's a infringement your right to have your personal information kept private.

Very unprofessional regardless what kind of bussiness it is.

+1, send a notice to the owner directly, send a notary or what not to serve their notice...dont air that shit out in public.

Unless the site was built for some kind of money transactions, that is an insane fee for hosting and design!
