150 Electronic / Minimal / Techno Drum Hits - Recorded With Expensive High-End Gear

Hello All

Here at the Wave Alchemy HQ we are very proud to announce the first in an ongoing series of exquisitely produced drum hit sample libraries. This new series is to be named Drum Tools. These libraries will provide 100% original drum hit samples of the highest quality

As a kind gesture we are giving away 150 (pre-release) sounds from our very first Drum Tools library! These sounds are taken directly from our forthcoming Drum Tools release "Wave Alchemy - Minimal Techno & Tech House"

The 150 free sounds included here showcase only a very very small fraction of what to expect from the full 'Minimal Techno & Tech House' drum hit library. The full sample library will offer near to 2000 drum samples! The estimated release date for the full library is Christmas 2009. Price will be between 29.95 and 34.95.

Here is the link to the 150 drum hits:

Wave Alchemy - Drum Tools Sounds

Here is a little teaser of what to expect from our Drum Tools libraries:

Set to be the future industry standard of singlehit drum sounds - Wave Alchemy's new Drum Tools libraries supply you with 100% original 24bit one-shot drum hits recorded and produced using only the very finest of outboard studio equipment. You will NOT find LOOPS in this catalogue.

Many libraries of this kind tend to source their sounds from old records and other peoples commercial music. We vouch to never rip sounds from vinyl, CD, mp3 or any other source and pass them off as our own! Everything we produce is 100% original.

The sounds from Wave Alchemy's Drum Tools products are produced from the ground up by the layering and processing of drum machine samples, field recordings and the recording of live drum and percussive instruments. The signal chain we use incorporates a number of highly sought after outboard compressors, equalizers and preamps resulting in a unique sound that will set you apart from the rest!

Here is a list of some of the kit used to produce this library:

Jomox XBase 999, Jomox Airbase 99, Jomox Mbase 11, Vermona DRM MK11, Elektron Machinedrum, Roland TR-808, Roland TR-606, MFB 522, ARP Odyssey, Future Retro XS, Moog Voyager, Nord Lead 3, Sherman Filterbank, Thermionic Culture Vulture, SSL E Series EQ, SSL E Series Compressor, Empirical Labs Distressor, SPL Transient Designer, Eventide H3000, API 512c pre-Amp + Much More...

We are extrmely excited about this forthcoming release and have put in countless hours of time, sweat and dedication to capture what we believe to be a sonic perfection...

We would love to hear any feedback anyone may have. If anyone makes any productions using these sounds we would love to have a listen

Kindest Regards,

Dan Byers

I spent a little while loading these samples into Maschine this evening and screwing around with some patterns. Here's a short little demo of grooves that I made entirely using Wave Alchemy samples + Maschine's onboard FX.

The first groove is composed entirely of samples from the Analog Drums library, the last 3 grooves are composed entirely of samples from the freebies provided above!

This can only improve on what I consider to be great already. Looking forward to that...

already have your fx package that i got through resonant vibes. good stuff but a little bit too many sweeps in my opinion. was hoping for more FX and less filter sweeps. I'd love to hear a pack with some nice 1 shots that delve across every genre of music. From caribbean xylophones bamboo shakers.

I personally find zero use in the melody, bass, and other types of samples. I've never understood why they are so massively produced.

The fact of the matter is that loop libraries do actually sell better than single-hit drum libraries from my experience.

I do find loop-based libraries good for inspiration but from now on I am going to put more time into producing single hits, recording live intruments and experimenting with exotic studio gear

Before creating our first Drum Tools release I purchased a few competing drum hit libraries out of curiosity. I have to say I was really shocked at the quality of some of them. Some were completely over-limited, edited incorrectly and many sounded like they were ripped from full productions - sometimes even mp3.

Forgot to say...

From now on we are going to be offering completely dry (uneffected) versions of all of our sounds. We have had a lot of people asking for the source files from SFX Collection 01 so we decided to take this on board and offer both effected and dry versions where appropriate.

SFX Collection 02 is going to be more versitile in that we hope to experiment a lot more with field recordings and foley sound. It should be a very interesting library

We have just updated our website with a new page dedicated to Drum Tools

Drum Tools - Wave Alchemy

On this page you can read more info about Drum Tools and listen to the audio demos! you can also download the free samples from there too if you'd prefer.

click on the 'cue in player' button to listen to the audio demo. the demo was made by Alehoe (gearslutz forum), Simon Mattison and myself. All sounds come from the free giveaway pack! The audio demo only showcases the tiniest fraction of what will be possible with the full Drum Tools release.

Did you download the file from the yousendit link on the first page of this thread or from or our website? What is the filesize?

On yousendit the free samples are compressed into a .RAR file. On our website they are zipped (.ZIP)

It must be that you dont have the correct software to unpack the .RAR file? (search winrar in google) I have just checked both downloads and they work fine at my end. Can anyone else confirm this please?

Let me know how it goes.

First off, thank you for this Wave Alchemy. Your stuff is great!

I worked security in a dance club for five + years, and my hearing was damaged despite wearing ear protection. I think because of my hearing, my tracks suffer somewhat, especially the drums/percussion. I have a hard time getting the mixing levels right. Anyway, I started a new track using the Wave Alchemy free samples, was just wondering if someone could give me some feedback on what I got so far (which isnt much, basically just the intro). Especially the drums/percussion since that is an area I know I need to work on.
