Which of these synths would you like to see a bank for?

I've been in a bit of a musical dry spell lately, so I've spent a lot time programming sounds for various synths. I've been thinking about putting out a bank of sounds for a few years now, so I think I'll take advantage of my musical slump and compile what I have and finish off a bank. The bank will be a diverse selection of original EDM/IDM sounds largely comprised of pads, plucks, arps, leads, and basses. My patches tend to be programmed with performance and expression in mind, so they will feature pretty careful use of modwheel, aftertouch, XY pads or assignable knobs (depending on the synth's capabilities), etc.

Anyway, the synth choices listed are the ones that I have a decent number of patches for already, so I figured I'd see what kind of interest there is out there before narrowing it down to one synth to focus on over the next few weeks. I'll probably follow Alanzo's lead and make the bank available as donationware (i.e., free or donate whatever you think it's worth).

either massive or zebra 2

zebra's my favourite synth outta the lot, can do anything with it, and extra sounds are always useful!

great idea using your 'unusable' time wisely too, i just play games if i'm not in the mood (or come here haha)

Zebra 2!

+1 for Massive or Zebra2, it'd probably be worth your time since it seems like a lot of people here have at least one of those.

No love for Predator?

Fast becoming my favourite

Well, if you goal is to make $$, my Virus TI bank sells better than the other two combined. It's a PIA to program, though.

That's a good point Alanzo

I don't have it! I have Albino 3, Blue, and SubBoomBass. I considered making a bank for one of them, but Albino already has a ton of banks and there are quite a few for Blue as well. But, I wanted to stick with newer synths that I figured a lot of people had, and it doesn't seem like Blue and SBB are as widely used as the choices I provided. I also considered Omnisphere, which I've used quite a bit lately, but I don't think that too many people have that one either and the patches I've been programming for it lately are probably not very usable as they are largely experimental sounds combining its FM, additive, and granular synthesis.

Naw, my goal isn't to make money, but I figure that if people are willing to help fund my addiction, I'd give them the option. As far as programming the Virus goes, I see people mentioning that it's hard to program all the time and it always puzzles me. I've been programming Viruses for a long time and I find them very easy to program. The most commonly used parameters have dedicated knobs/buttons, the majority of the others are a Shift away, and the menus aren't that deep. Combine that with Virus Control for the more tedious tasks (e.g., naming patches) and it's not that hard at all IMO.

I mean that it's hard to program because there's so damn much to the synth. It's the AOL of synthesizers.

I'll see what I can do. In the meantime, get plenty of rest and stop eating mushrooms that you find in the neighbor's yard.

Massive ideally, otherwise Fabfilter twin2. I think massive is one of the most widely used softsynths in EDM at the moment, so you'll probably reach the most people that way.

Yeah, that would work great, considering how cryophonik doesn't even have Logic.

Apparently, I'm not the only one who doesn't have logic.

I know you guys have been waiting anxiously for the final decision, so here it is [drum roll]:

Zebra 2.

[/drum roll]

I ran the same poll on TA and Zebra had the most votes between the two. Interestingly, Zebra and Massive are both tied here at 9 apiece, but Massive got 0 votes at Anjunabeats - go figure. Anyway, I'm hoping to get this done by the end of the month and out by early January, then I'm probably going to work on the Virus TI and Gladiator banks, since I have the most patches for those two synths already created. Eventually, I'd like to complete all of them, but we'll see.

Thanks for all the votes!

U-he Zebra 2 was my vote!
