Lady Gaga - Bad Romance (Alcala Remix)

Hope I'm not beating a dead horse with this. (Not sure how many other remixes are out there) but anyway I had fun with this. I'm really starting to get the hang of producing I think. Each new track is taking less time to finish. Now I just need to get better at making original material

while its true that there are a ton of remixes of this i keep looking for a remix that will grab my attention.and this one does that for me. especially because its an amateur tune and amateur tunes for download on here are hard to find nowadays.

this is better then the officially licensed remix tracks in my opinion.the only thing id like to see on this track would be using some the vocal parts in the track as a build then followed by a crushing upflifting bassline. perhaps even like a semi dub mix with most of the vocal parts being used as a prequel to the hook and bassline.

i dont know if that makes sense and quite frankly my opinion means nothing but what does mean something is i will be playing this on my show this week as part of my amateur spotlight segment.

good job on this and id like to hear you remix something unique.i feel you have the basics down to take a it song and remix it.id also like to hear more original stuff from you!

Thanks for the kind words man. that means a lot to me! I've been sending tracks to blogs and such for months now and no responses so it's nice to get some feedback. Yeah I thought about doing a dub too. Maybe I'll work on one this week. I've got so many other things I want to finish though so I'll probably move on to something else.

That is very cool of you to play this on your show. I just subscribed to the podcast so I'll keep my ears open. Thanks again though more tunes to come as fast as I can make em!

my only complaint is the bass is pretty low and that made it harder to mix into a set.other then that its done well!ill be playing it again this week live on my radio show.

Awesome. Can't wait to hear. Was listening to your Jan. mix and it's really bangin! Don't follow trance much anymore but this is good.

Yeah I hear what you're saying. I cut a good amount of bass out while mixing and mastering because it was taking up so much room in the mix. I filter out everything below 50 Hz & above 12 kHz on the entire mix and that seems to give more room. I'm still having trouble getting the balance where everything is still dynamic but at a good output level. I feel like all my songs never sound loud enough compared to others. I guess it's all part of the learning curve.

if you decide to keep tweaking the track you made definetly increase the bass.cuz it would be hard to play out in a club scene where it was really loud.there are ways to cheat around it when you mix a track with a soft bassline but a strong bassline is always the easiest!when i play it again this week im going to up the bass levels and see how it sounds.

Cool man. I'd like to hear that when you're done with it. Yeah unfortunately I don't play out much anymore so I can't hear how it really sounds in a club.

I just ordered Yamaha HS80 monitors last week and I'm ditching the KRKs so I'm hoping this can give me better sounding mixes!

You can get rid of Gaga's voice and the track will be really good imo.

Sorry to keep bumping this but I went back and swapped some drum parts. I feel like they still sound a little harsh and don't have the nice warmth I like in other tracks but for me to really get that I would have to spend a lot more time on this and I don't want to be tweaking this like George Lucas with Star Wars so I'm going to let it be and move on. I just uploaded the newer version here...
