A Glass production - Music by Owen Ferguson
Friendly greetings,
this is a short video that a friend of mine shot. He asked me to put some music to it and I thought it would be a great opportunity. We're both pretty pleased with the outcome!
We hope you guys like it. Thanks a lot.
Wow - awesome work guys! The music is excellent as always Owen, very intimate and nicely produced. I still think you have a future in film scoring if you want it.
The video is excellent as well, but my only (minor) complaint is that the transitions between scenes is too abrupt and sorta has the effect of disconnecting the music from the images (to me, at least). I think a slower fade from one scene to the next would be a big improvement ans would flow better with the music, but video's not really my thing, so take it for what it's worth. There's definitely some gorgeous imagery there, though.
Great job!
Thanks a million, Dave
It's great to hear comments like this. I really hope that I get a chance to do some more soundtracks eventually.
I'll pass the kind words on to Glass. Cheers!
nice one owen, thought you did a good job. keep at it, hope to see/hear more in the near future.
really dig the reverse effects.
I've commented on this over at Anjuna but I had another listen this morning and this really is stunning work. I'd urge you to take what you've done here and create a 10 minute epic.
Perhaps a bit more Cello underpinning the chords EQ'd to be a bit more raspy or grating.
Awesome work.
Out of interest are you working to a backing tempo or playing in chords on the fly?
@Msz: Thanks a lot mate. I really hope there will be more to see, but there will definitely be more to hear
@Geoff: Cheers once again bud! Yeah, next time I hope to work with something I bit longer. But this was fine as my first experience! I recorded the Piano on the fly and based the rest around it. I hadn't really worked with timings like this beforehand
your music is so peaceful, you're very good at it.. very mysterious vibes, thats how i would describe it but also after a thought it's so beautiful at the same time.. i could see this in a movie
Damn owen this is really stunning and thought provoking. Keep making more
Owsey in da howsey, mackin' on Minnie Mousey, if we got into ah hussle, I think he'd oust me...
Seriously, amazing as usual.
Wow, stunning images, there's something so haunting and beautiful about derelict buildings and that's exactly how I'd describe your score - Those higher strings rising up just after the 'Goods List' shot is a spine-tingling moment. Great work
@Alan: That's a nice description. Thanks a lot. I gave you some feedback on your latest track - check your Youtube inbox.
@Sako: Thanks! I will indeed make more.
@Brockolious:
Cheers dude.
@Nova: Thanks a lot! It's nice to hear things like "spine-tingling moment"
I'll let Glass know that you liked his images.
I agree with everything in this thread (this includes Cryo's thing about transitions of images and them being abrupt) but your music is so good Owen, I'm surprised you never done stuff like this before.
Thanks Ben
Glass is making a video for my track "For the Day" and I'm pretty sure we're going to do more collaborations in the future!
