American Phoenix - [Breakbeat - Break Trance/Hard Trance - 320 FULL Download]

Deep Eddie Zilker - American Phoenix (Post Feedback Edit) - 320 by DeepEddieZilker

Okay...

I tried to take into account every piece of critique in making this new version. Hopefully, I did okay. I didn't add distortion to the bass-line but I did raise the volume of a buzzy saw layer in stereo. Instead of using a D&B style beat I brought in some vocal samples that build up until the new lead takes over.

I hope you like it and will take the time to let me know what you all think. Thanks for helping me push my game on this one.

Thanks, man.

Everything in the first minute or so sounded really deep and solid, but when the synth comes in I think it takes away the initial feeling, which is fine, but IMO it would sound much better if the fully melody didn't play right away.

After a while, however, it does seem to really fit in and serve a nice part in the track.

All the elements are cool as they are, but I would personally like to hear more built upon the track. For something over 10 minutes long it does tend to get a bit repetitive

I reckon this could use some nice filtered and reverbed d'n'b drums coming in and out in the background.

Maybe a little distortion on the bassline too.

Very evocative track that takes me back 15-20 years

Alrighty! This is pretty similar to some feedback I've gotten elsewhere, so I'm going to put some more effort into the track and see what I can come up with.

That might be interesting. I don't know about distortion on the bass-line with my idea for adding other things but if it winds up fitting in...

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'll be doing the upgrade, shortly.

Good luck, finding the head-phones. If you can find them and need some cheap ones to tide you over, Skull Candy is the brand I'd look for.

I like your mixing, it's sooooo clean.

I could picture this in a video game soundtrack. sounds like a song you'd hear in certain places in the citadel in mass effect.

Thanks, man. I still hear stuff I want to polish up in it, but I am happy with it, so far. Not bad for using Altec-Lansing computer speakers, a pair of Sony MDR-700s, and a really decent visual frequency analyzer.

Just had to look that up. The screen-shot I found reminds me of when I used to play a RTS space game called Home World.

Well, the beat did sound nice on my Altec Lansing ATP3 , BUT then i put my Headphones on and it sounded a bit 'messy' to me...like the kick and the bass are playing twice without sync...

Besides that i really like the melodies, something special no doubt,

I also think that an uplifting trance remix could be intresting for this track.

I really like it, though I think it'd be nice to have some kind of intermittent melody playing on top of what's there, it sounds like there's plenty of room in the mix and the arrangement for it

Great mixing too, nice work

Thanks for the compliments. I liked the attack that was formed in the offset of the kick and bass, but I can understand that might need some finessing, in the future.

Most of my tunes tend to be quite dense, but I think I've been tending towards that to make up for a lack of sound quality I haven't been able to achieve, until now (be it because of maturity or the fact that I've upgraded both computer and DAW - from Project 5 to SONAR). I'm not arguing your point, though. Just glad you liked what you liked.

Thank you, both, for the compliments and the honest critique.

I like the atmosphere here and it displays some originality which for me personaly is what most gets my attention nowadays.

There's something about the kick drum that bugs me - I'm not sure, but to my ears it sounds like it's flamming / doubled.

Nice work.

Thank you, Mr. Butler.

interesting track, i like your use of vocals and i have not much to add. maybe a suggestion would to be to later on in the track make a atmospheric lush pad section, which i think would go well.

greetz!

Listening yo.

I like that synth that comes in after about a minute.

Kinda trippy after the little break.

I can hear that some sounds are out of sync, but it sounds nice.

All those delayed sounds and stuff works nicely.

However i got to say i do miss a proper snare drum to the rhythm, overall nice stuff.

Thanks, guys. Glad you all like the updated version.
