Ian - My Ears Have Been Calibreated [Drum & Bass - Minimal/Chilled/Liquid/Autonomic]

It only seems like yesterday that I was sharing my last mix and yet I found time to do my next one, which is the one I've been wanting to do for a long time now but have waited for a lot of things to be released. There's still a lot more I wanted to have in here that isn't out til Jan & in some cases, many more months yet.

This set is a lot more laidback imo, kinda chilled. It includes a lot of influence from the excellent Calibre album even if which came out at the end of November (hence the play on the title of the set), as well as stuff from other excellent artists such as D-Bridge, Instra:Mental, Blu Mar Ten, Klute and Lenzman.

not a problem mate. Hope you enjoy it as much as you liked the others, and good to see a familiar face from when I was a n00b

This was really great, man. Significant improvement over the set you first let me hear. Your mixing was not so great, but that can be overlooked as the tunes were stellar and your flow was picture perfect. Nailed this one, looking forward to your other one.

Thanks a lot for that, Nick. I'm a bit mad that a couple of the transitions weren't as smooth as I'd got them once before but I think it flows ok and I've never been a great mixer, so as long as people feel the tunes I'm happy.

I speak most kinds of English, except for Geordie. Though, I'm convinced that Geordie is not actually even close to English.

Santa was a bit late this year I see

cheers I'm not surprised you've gravitated towards it since you're one of few people whose charts I read each month & I either recognise any of the tunes or think 'yeah, that ones great'

The track coming in around 27 mins is very nice, think it's the Cutworks track. I dig your selections mate.

Paul B - Whisper

I like it but it's got a weird into, in that it doesn't go very long before it comes in so I found myself getting into it too early when mixing it. Appreciate the comment though

after a few listens i have to say that this is fantastic! awesome music with solid mixing!

looking forward to the next mix from you in this fashion!

Posted by Ian on Jan-07-2011 21:26:

thanks very much I'm quite happy with it, although the lack of a few tunes being available yet annoyed me because I envisioned something that couldn't be because I didn't have the patience to potentially wait another year!
