this. me old briefcase is the mix for 2010. i've been out of touch with trance lately, i always seem to have other pressing issues to comprehend with..broken laptops, employment, broken vehicles and the gf has been ill also, so i've not had the time but! up to the run up to 2011 it seems a shame not to have something special (i managed to get a day to myself and made this)- a classics mix for you all, to bring yous all into the new year, lets all get incredibly MUNTED. (beers. i have many many beers)

Mixing - no comment.
Trackz - the first half was very painful to me, I am not used to such epic amounts of hot grated cheese
It all got way better after Binary Finary, and went on alright. I liked some of these, legendary tunes.. The last two tracks were a perfect choice - great antidote
It was interesting, I was looking for something different to what I usually listen to. Thanks for putting it up.

thankuverymuchpleashe for the comments me ol bicyles, much appreciated, i tried to keep it harmonic as possible (i even re-exported-edited sea of passion to keep it in key of hudson street) i think it was a few cents off so a re-tune was in order. how nice am i? eh?
further comments include an edit of ian van dahls - castles in the sky, had to take them friggin vocals out (i tried for an unvocal but i never prevailed) hmmmz....

Epic, epic, epic. This is what I love about trance. There were literally points in this set where I threw my hands in the air and just reached for all the imaginary lasers I could think of.
The flow was magnificent, some of the mixing was a bit messy, but overall it was an amazing ride, plenty of delicious trance in here. I must ask what effect you were using during Liquify? I've listened to that song ever since Toby released it, and it sounded a bit... Trance Energy-ish? Did you have some sort of delay or reverb?
Nice work, mate, what's next on the list of tunes to play? You gonna have some crazy indie shizz next time around?

plenty of lazers to be enjoyed in this set, i got hooked into an ayla set that swamper posted and was instantly inspired.
i have time cycle on at the moment and i am hearing some man with no name. i am getting moist hearing these classic goa sounds. will feedback once i have indulged fully.
trance energy sets were the shizzle when i was growing up, the unique sound they had on them, it was like you described, somewhat reverbed because it was mixed from the direct signal along with some of the wet sounds of the crowd. the sound on toby emersons liquify is an example of the classic (trance energy) ID&T compressor/limiter effect.
feed the mix through a spectrum and you will see that i have squashed the fuck out of it 
ouch i banged my knee
oh and next in line for mixes...well, im not really sure..i got a few juicy ambient tunes to abuse in a mix but not enough to warrant a mix. i also have a couple of tunes for the B-side of area 33, bordeaux. re-map the GPS i think.
