Grabbed this off FB yesterday. Will definitely get onto it soon.

This will probably turn me gay.

thanks tweak! always felt my mixing was a bit ADD (i don't really sit on one track for too long unless i feel it's appropriate) so i'm glad to see you liked that aspect of the mix.

just some cheeky tunes i've compiled and enjoyed over the past year but never really got around to putting together.

stretching out for the summer "patio" season. let me know what the rest of ya think.

Just got done listening to this, Denys. Very nice, sir. Mixing and track selection were top notch. I really dug the flow of this one with some great sounds throughout.

Had me dancing in my chair from the track that starts around 15 minutes all the way through 'til the end, haha. Kudos sir!

So I listened to this today. Perhaps I was expecting more given the previous reviews, but it wasn't really up my alley. There were some nice groovy tracks in here, but I found a lot of them very Umek-ish, just kind of mindless banging with no real uniqueness. It also seemed like you chained many of these together and there was one section that was just thumping on the spot for twenty minutes.

Apart from that, the mixing was really quite superb; a much higher standard than anything usually found on here. That salvaged things for me a lot. Besides mixing this on computer, what did you do, sit down with them all and try which ones worked together, or something else?

agreed, especially towards the end i was just selecting tracks at random from what i've had acquired over the past few months, i guess they were all in the same vein.

close, this was done on scratch pro (traktor). really didn't go into it with any rhyme or reason besides the opening track, which i got an idea for (to open with) about a month back and that really started this whole thing.

tried to piece it as best as possible at the beginning, create some form of flow. but i'd say there's a good part somewhere in the middle (as you mentioned) where it was just lapping stuff together from whatever was recent and stood out, and make sure it's at the very least blended well.

good review, thanks!

EDIT: thought I really don't agree that it sounds UMEK-ish... at least not from my experience of what UMEK is playing. maybe you listened to the wrong set.

I'm more of a dick-stroker than a chin-stroker, so I should still enjoy it, right?
