Is EQ effected in a volume range?
Good day,
Long time lurker trying to soak up all the knowledge here to one day do something creative.
I listen to a fair amount of music on my phone with in ear speakers and recently changed the kernel on my phone to include the following;
Voodoo sound
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...d.php?t=1132875
To my ear it makes a HUGE difference, and can experience more of the lower freq of the music, it sounds more lush and full. Sometimes at the expense of mids. The only issue I find is that it seems that this only works well at mid to higher volumes, and that the audio might be better at lower levels on a stock kernel without voodoo.
My question from this then, does EQ levels have different results in a volume range?
Apologies if my terminology is off, still learning.
Regards
It might be the Fletcher Munson curve effect

or that our ears become more sensitive to lows and highs as volume increases.
Its funny to think that music is made and mixed to how we perceive frequencies, s opposed to how they actually are
