Do we need cdj?

The more I think about it, the more I realize that they have less to no purpose. What's the point of getting 5-6k worth of brand new cd2000s' equip when you can buy a controller + efx maschine. Vinyl I still understand because it still has that swag, that old schoolness that many people like.
Any thoughts?

CD's themselves are on the way out.

I really hate the glow of a laptop screen in the both; very unsexy...

Hopefully we'll see CDJs re-bundled as a sort of glorified midi controller which runs on dedicated hardware (no laptop required)... basically the same as what we have now but cheaper and without the optical drive.

riders. They are more reliable than a laptop. Any dj you book will have that in the contract even if they don't use them. They are still the standard for live djing.

yes. until Pioneer makes CD-less CDJs.

even with a laptop, always good to have a cdj or two on hand as a failsafe

ive gone back to cdjs recently, but really miss being able to search for the next song by keyboard.. i fucking hate scrolling. i prefer flipping through a booklet to scrolling, but hate how cheap cdrs are.

can they make a keyboard attachment for cdjs already??

I just flop my cock around in a helicopter motion and press play on the 8 track.

CDJs don't fuck up as much as computers.

the 2000/900's have usb. so they are usbdjgays.

Totally Greg, the major advantage I see that Latops have is the ability to search by type. An attachable keyboard would make the CDJ with USBs the perfect package imo.

Ha you know what? I bet Pioneer already knew that people will want attachable keyboards soon but they held back on including it as an option in the Nexus so they could sell whatever CDJ unit they release next year
