TA DJ's! - Bedroom Sessions VI (TA Radio 2.0)
Welcome to TA Radio 2.0
Hosting a Shoutcast server can be a complicated endeavor, requiring time & resources that most aren't willing to spend. Nou hosted the last server for us until he stopped supporting it. I found a service that offers this for FREE in exchange for a slightly sketchy looking interface/radio page with ads.
Traktor Streaming Instructions
IceCast - pretty much don't have to do anything to IceCast, leave it handling the localhost stream on port 8000. Install it and run the server.
Traktor - set your broadcasting settings to localhost with the password in IceCast (hackme, probably) with stream path /stream.ogg. start your music and click the Broadcast button.
StreamTranscoder - this part is tricky. When the old TA radio was working I saved a copy of an old version of this software that worked with ShoutCast. I'm pretty sure the company that makes it doesn't have a website anymore so copies of v3 are not exactly easy to come across. It takes the ogg stream you are creating in Traktor/IceCast and broadcasts it to the L2MR host. WINDOWS ONLY
You can download that software here (with TA Radio config):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z2schl9pt...oderV3.zip?dl=0
Start the app and click Connect. If it worked, both lines should say Connected and in about 1 minute you should hear the radio output from the stream link below.
Turn ON the Stream
You must LOG IN and turn the Stream ON before connecting!
There should be an option to turn on the stream in the control panel, or on the landing page after you log in.

When you want to broadcast to the radio, your admin panel in L2MR gives you a few links you can give out. The interface is sketchy, so what I did was find the stream in the source code on the page. It's in the .asx format, pasted above. You can open that with VLC or some other media player on your computer or mobile and listen.
You might not have to use the method with Icecast/StreamTranscoder that I listed above, but as long as you are able to broadcast to ShoutCast then you should be able to connect here.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me or post in this thread. Enjoy! Long live TA Radio!
Sorry, will have to cancel tonight's planned stream. Something has come up.
I intend to stream in a matter of minutes.
Thank you for the stream, Ted. It is now I who shall stream upon these airwaves. Get ready.
The stream has now begun. Enjoy, tender vagina.
Is this stream still functional for my ears as well? They (my ears) would like for this stream to be functional at this hour.
I once again am streaming on the radio, of this you can be sure.
I'll be playing some music tonight! In approximately 45 minutes at 7:30 PM. I'll post again when I start.
Tune in through the internet at http://taradio2.listen2myradio.com - or through your favourite media player with the asx link: http://taradio2.radiostream123.com/...adio2893661.asx
Genre will be a surprise
Tune in now! I am starting.

All done now. Thanks for tuning in if you were a shadow listener!
Nostalgic remembering the mammoth sessions we used to have back to 24kbps streams. Good to see a few still get on it occasionally.
Anyone down to play anytime soon?
I'm no mix specialist, but I wouldn't mind practicing and playing a tune or two on stream. I've set up a Mixlr station. Might get on in the next few days.
Would like to hear some of you play for old time's sake if you're up for it.
I certainly wouldn't mind playing if I can get around the technical faff of setting it up.
My wife was just asking if I am going to make a quarantine mix. I have my turntables setup, so that would mean some old old records would be played. I just have nothing to stream on.
I stream on toilet seats.
Coincidentally RA just published a post on how to live stream today:

As long as you have decks, a mixer, a computer and this cool little device , you're golden. Stream away
Btw, Mixlr is running a free trial right now - great for audio-only streaming.
Setting up a radio station is way too technical for me (Zip?).
