Is there honestly a better trance track than Netherworld?
The full version on LSG - Vol. 2 is just a masterpiece. Armin also said it's his favorite track ever.
L.S.G - Netherworld RT @Darlo84: @arminvanbuuren whats your fav trance tune of all time??

Matt, what do you do when you're not posting on TA? Are you the experimental test subject in a CIA mind control programme that involves shoving industrial quantities of crayons up your nose?
I'm single. there's your answer.
Strictly speaking it isn't.
theres no commercials with trance
I mean, it's a great tune, top tier even, but I wouldn't say it's the best of Lieb.
i need to hear from Ted Promo before i state a response

Pretty good tune indeed but I would have to name drop "The Train Of Thought 1.2" or Paragliders - Change Me...found only Tetsuo and Tranceportation labels. The version released on Hooj Choons does not have the Original that Sasha would drop in his sets.
This video is misleading with the Hooj Choons picture but it's the Tranceportation Original Mix.
This might be abit OT but is there anyone from the last 10 years or so that has made techno/trance that sounds like Lieb's old stuff?
This is from 2020 and it mixes like a dream with Netherworld. Try it at home:
From beginning till end I personally always liked these better:
Resistance D - Skyline (Bytes Mix) (1994)
Zyon - No Fate (No Fate Mix '93)
L.S.G - Fontana (Processed Mix) (1995)
I recorded Armin playing Netherworld in Toronto back in Aug 2008... was one of the last great sets I heard live from him.

I couldn't compete with your sources Matt

It's still funny how Armin thinks Trance started when he started listening to trance. He's right that in Holland we called everything house in the early 90's and Trance became a lot more popular around 95 and 96, but e.g. Trancemaster 1 and Reactivate Five - Pure Trance And Techno were released in 1992 so the word Trance as a genre was there, but he just wasn't listening at the time.
Netherworld is great, but the first part often is skipped, which is why it's not at the top of my list.
Armin never listened early hardtrance, so there won't be any early hardtrance tracks in his list, but I'm sure enough early trancers would mention some as best ever. I always thought it had to do with the fact he's from Leiden. For sure it would have been different when would have lived in Rotterdam like Ferry.
Point Zero is also in my best ever list, but also Quench - Dreams (1993)
There isn't a best ever trance track, just maybe a most popular.
Trance-M ended this thread. I was confident until I realized Point Zero exists.

The best trance track ever is clearly Breeder - The Chain. Once you've heard that on a club soundsystem there's no going back.
