How to find my post?
Hello All,
A long time ago I put up a post here asking for some new music recommendations. I dont see it anywhere and none of my searches turn up anything.
Is there a special way to find old content or might it have been deleted?
Thank you very much!
Hello there,
I can't seem to find your post anywhere either. What exactly did you say? How long ago did you post? By the way, if it was about music recommendations, are you sure you didn't post in the music discussion forum? Looking for say, "rattymouse site:tranceaddict.com", on Google should've yielded a result or two, but it seems as if this is your first post ever. Nothing shows up at all.
And, as a moderator, I can't find any traces of your post. Is there any chance you had another user name back then?
Funny, 24 years in, I just realized there's no (obvious) way to look at your own Profile unless you click the button under one of your posts.

and click the top right link to list all your posts

Originally posted by rattymouse I thought it very strange there's no easy way to find your own posts in a forum. At most other places it is a trivial thing to do. Perhaps I have no other posts. |

I do write fiction and I've written some short fiction about clubbing, but I've never even found somewhere to submit those pieces to. It's such a specific subject matter that it doesn't fit the majority of anthologies, magazines, etc.
In terms of writing a story about a forum, I think one of the big emerging challenges of 21st Century literature is portraying online interactions in traditional prose narratives. It would have to be quite an experimental book, but also oddly pass at the same time, because Gen Z don't really use old fashioned bulletin board forums like this.
I write non fiction but everyone thinks its fiction

But really I wanted to look at my profile and look through my old posts. On my first reply in 2001 there were other comments like this goldmine,

Originally posted by Swamper Can't say same for you though, replying to bump so many threads with mostly 1-liner nonsense doesn't benefit anyone. ![]() On a positive note, I had to go edit some forum code to allow to selectively delete a bunch of your posts (rather than doing each manually or deleting them ALL). So, in the 24.8 years of TA being around, that hadn't been necessary, until now. So, kudos to you for the forced labour ![]() |
