Your opinion on Eurodance back then, and now in 2024?
Probably about 10-13 years ago I used to think eurodance was considered commercial pop cheese, and it probably was at the time. Eurodance borrowed a lot of influence from the emerging electronic music scene of the golden era, but it was still commercial.
Reflecting back now in 2024, eurodance wasnt that bad. Sure some are really cheesy but I think sometimes eurodance is easier to listen to than trance. But trance will always be better imo.
Does anyone think 90s-00s eurodance is still better than most of the stuff in the radio out today?
Anyone care to share some good eurodance tunes btw?
the more eurodance tunes I discover, the greater appreciation I have for the genre. Tracks like Haddaway - What Is Love is a classic, but there's also other incredible tracks as well.

It was always at its best when borrowing from trance of the day. Jam & Spoon, Dance 2 Trance, Snap!'s Rhythm Is A Dancer, and this little gem of an act that really needs more modern love...
At the point now where I cant listen to another euro dance song without getting mad. Overexposed to it for far too long

I loved Eurodance. We called it just "Dance" here in Mexico. Thanks to that style I discovered Trance. One of the tracks that really got me was Encore Une Fois by Sash!

Nowadays all the music uses a lot of Compressors so old Electronic Dance Music sounds somewhat weaker overall but definitely there are still beautiful tunes. Even the cheesy ones.
Eurodance was kinda mainstream in Mexico during 1989-1999. Last year I went to a Dance event with Wighfield, Crystal Waters, Jenny from Ace of Base... So there's still a small market (and love) for Eurodance nowadays!

that track would've been good enough to be released on Tidy Trax back in the day.
