American Football - Super Bowl
So how many of you guys watch the Super Bowl? I've known several soccer fans that don't watch American football but will watch the Super Bowl. Maybe the playoffs if it's some well known teams.
(go Raiders!!)
I don't really care about any football. But when Superbowl swings around, I can't help but have fun doing that Basic-Bitch Casual act of getting hype over The Narratives.
It's the one thing where I can relate to being like an EDC or Tomorrowland fan.
/is Mahomes greater than Brady?
as avid NFL fan....this Super bowl match up does not excite me one bit.
I think most die hard NFL fans are suffering from Chiefs Fatigue. The eagles fan base is one of the most vile fan bases in the NFL. They also have some trash on their team starting with Jalen Carter
I'm happy for Saquan Barkley making it to the Super Bowl. He is a great player and one of the good guys in the league. Its refreshing to see a player hand the ball to the ref after a TD instead of acting like an ass..
If the Chiefs manage a win, i hope its Harrison Butker who kicks the game winner just to shut up a lot of these libtards up. If you don't know the Harrison Butker story, looks it up.

I think he does a better of job of making passes on instinct compared to Brady who followed a system. Brady will always be the standard because of his wins, rings and longevity. I also personally always thought that Peyton Manning was the better QB during Brady's era. The man started from scratch and his team was built around him. |

Since FOX is airing the Super Bowl this year and Brady is calling the game...you know Brady is going to have Eagles bias with some of this calls. Deep down inside you know he doesn't want to see Mahomes win 3 Super Bowls, cause thats something Brady hasn't done. |
Barred owl is a superb owl
Go, Pats!
(failing that, the current scoreboard is very pleasing
)
This game confirmed my belief that the Football Gods do grant miracles if you stay humble, but will seriously humble thee if you are not.
/Hockey Gods are like Old Testament God: utter pricks
//Baseball Gods are more like mischievous pagan Gods
///the Basketball Gods are dead; Michael Jordan killed them

The soccer gods are like the ancient Greek gods, fucking around with the fate of mortals for maximum entertainment value.
As an Eagles fan growing up, I didn't give one flying fuck about this game. I converted to real football after I moved to London in 2017 and watched the Eagles win their first Super Bowl six months later. Haven't watched an NFL game since. I thought "soccer" was a slow and boring sport when I was a kid. Silly American. I look back on my childhood and cringe at all the time I wasted watching short segments of games squeezed between long commercial breaks of ads for Budweiser, cars, etc. Now that my boy is playing it and excelling, I've fallen in even deeper love for football and learning its history, studying tactics, etc. Despite the corruption and dirty money surrounding it, it really is the world's most beautiful sport to watch at the pub with a pint or play with your kid.
It's really quite impressive that you manage to be a pretentious berk even when talking about a sport generally enjoyed by the lager-guzzling, hairy-knuckled, spam-faced proletariat.
Bumping this thread back up for any football fans.
New England (Boston) Patriots VS Seattle Seahawks
A Super Bowl matchup I don't have a lot of interest in team wise but should be a good game. Both are young teams with great offenses and defenses. It's been a while since I've seen a pretty competitive season and each team fought pretty hard to get where they're at now.
We have friends that are not into football but the Super Bowl has been a good time for many of us to link up and hangout for a Sunday afternoon. It's become a bit of unofficial holiday. Only part that sucks is having to work the next Monday morning.
As a disgruntled Raider fan, it is my duty to hate the Patriots so I will be rooting for Seahawks
I still remember the absolute heartbreak so many Seahawks fans had last time they were in the Superbowl. And for good cause, their final play a total cock-up. Even I, a completely disinterested observer of this particular sport, still could feel the Sportsball Anguish of watching them blow it in pathetic fashion.

Lets face it, this is not a sexy Super Bowl as far as the teams in it are concerned.
The Sam Darnold story is an interesting one. This is his 5th team since coming into the league in 2018. It would make for a good story should he and the Seahawks win
Pete Carrol isn't coaching the Seahawks...I'd like to see Seattle win this SB...
And i think we can all agree, the last time these 2 teams met in the Super Bowl, the Seahawks gifted the Patriots a SB by not having Lynch run the ball at the 2 yd line.
Seattle 34
Patriots 10

And, of course, it was fun having someone Brazilian-by-association in the NFL back then. But, you know who won't ever jump ship? That's right, someone from an altogether different continent who can barely say Massachu... Massashets... Boston |
if i can find a pirated site on the web i'll stream it but i stopped following football when the niners left the city.
i don't have a favorite but it'd be nice if seahawks won i guess being left coast and all, and all the trash seattle gets for being progressive.
Seahawks won. Many found it boring but I thought it was a great defensive effort by both teams.
2026/27 season, look out for the Raiders going undefeated!
Was funny seeing a Yahoo article pop up at halftime, highlighting the lowest scoring games in Superbowl history. Can't blame 'em for thinking this one was a contender after that first half.
