OK, i recorded a set in SoundForge 6.0 and for whatever reason, there was hardly any bass or mids picked up by my recording device. i have since corrected the problem, but the set I recorded was pretty fucking slamming, and I'd like to correct the bass/mids problem. Is there a program that will help me level out everything pretty easily?

Will SoundForge let me do this as well? Anyone have a clue how to do this, and with what program??

Soundforge can do it with a bit eq'ing and hardlimiting. That being said you wouldn't have to use these if you were recording properly in the first place.

Weak link somewhere in the soundcard/mixer perhaps?

You can try and use eq to bring the mids and lows back up to their normal level but it may not sound the same as it should normally. There are eq plug-ins in sound forge that you can use. You do not need to get another program.

As for normalising, if the mix was recorded at too low a level, then use the peak normalise function to bring it back up to a decent level. I personally would not recommend compressing/limiting a mixed set as the individual songs have already been compressed.
