Authentic? Vinyl is obselete, CDs sound better, and why should you have carry around a crate of records when you can have all of them on your hard drive? It's more convient, you have a larger span of creativity, you get better sound, I don't see why people won't accept it as a true form of DJ'ing. It's about the music, not the fucking tools used to play it.
Of course mixing off Vinyl requires more skill, I will always respect those who can do it, I have only had limited time on vinyl/cd decks, and it amazes me how people can take 2 songs by 2 different artists and make them blend together as if they were made to do that.
But its the 21st century and its time for DJ technology to progress, we are limiting ourselves by not accepting new forms of DJ'ing.
Maybe I'm one of the few people who share this view point...
