I didn't know of this until when I stumbled upon the following video on youtube
Seems all their major hits were remixed samples from the classic era. Sure they are masters of live mixing and I respect that, but I think I was wrong to personally rate them higher than chicane.

I've know this for a while now and it just made me respect their work even more, depends on the point of view. And I definitely wouldn't word them as remixes...

Who says they rate higher than Chicane? I think their productions are a bit overrated, but I still enjoy their work. Also just to add to your thread:
I actually have a few disco records done by one of their dads.

you know daft punk has said in multiple interviews that they try really hard to find a few good samples for each song, and seems like they suceed in doing so. almost every song on discovery is sampled
