yeah, as much as I think most of pioneers products are turd (with exception to the CDJ's) I'm thankful that they made a vinyl deck (although as I said in the PLX announcement thread, it rather ironic that the brand that did everything they could to kill off vinyl, now now fucked their own market so badly that they want to go back it lol).
There may well be a mk2 and I hope they address the issues but again, it's a thing I hate about Pioneer;
They have the rush-to-market business model which consists of putting out a flawed beta product with a ton of hype about it being the best thing ever, then a year later bringing out the model that they really should have made in the first place, and then stating, "forget that one, THIS is the best thing ever".
I'm all for development or perfection of design but their business model isn;t about that - it's about selling multiple generations of the same thing to the same people, over and over again, and doing so with a ton of hype.
They know when they build something what corners they're cutting, they know what has come before and know exactly what they *should* put out, yet they don't.
As you can see online and even from this video, they are known for putting out shite for the first few incantations of a given model and frankly consumers are sick of this shit (which is why Pioneer are in trouble).
They should have used all the Technics patents and molds, made a real 1210 with a pioneer button, line out option and IEC socket. That would have been enough and they could have sold them for a $1000 each and people would have lapped them up.
instead, they made a cheap, worse than OEM knockoff that isn't as good as what came before it for 30+ years.
I'm so glad I bought m5g's. The only thing that would ever make me consider switching is if someone brings out a deck with built in, sensor based DVS. Which apparently is coming soon
