FL studio problem

Sorry to sound ignorant guys but this is my first time using FL studio, Ive played around with it in the past and now Im more into it. The problem is that I alreadly have my drumkit made, now all I need is to lay it out on the playlist editor. Thats where I get stuck, Ok I lay out a sub kick and a basic hihat for the first pattern for about 16 seconds, then I select pattern two on the playlist and click on another sound in the sequence window. Problem is that it adds the third sound onto the first pattern, wtf why does it do that?

never heard of this before.

either that or you're not describing what you're going through in sufficient detail.

seems though as you may not have selected the pattern to write into... or there a setting on clone somewhere.

You would have to explain the problem better. And when you are playing back are you playing in pattern mode or song mode? Did you put your patterns in playlist yet. I dont think FLStudio would copy automatically one pattern to another one without your desire. Are you editing patterns under piano roll? Explain better please.
