Sound quality.

Fuck high volume. I don't want my senses bludgeoned all the time. It seems all the mastering technicians these days are former members of Spinal Tap.

it really depends

personally I prefer quality of signal and sound, but if I am playing a house party where we're all going to be fucked up anyways I will go for the volume

here in Montreal we do have clubs with good sound quality.

One of the biggest venues for all kinds of show called Metropolis has one of the best sound system I heard.

We used to have an afterhour called Aria which also had a very very good sound system

And we have Stereo, another afterhour which is considered to have the best sound system in North America

I don't know. I think the two are interdependent. No point in having brilliant quality sound if the music isn't loud enough for you to hear the details. No point taking shit sound and ramping up the decibels- it just highlights the shitness.

I like volume, but not in the stupid way a lot of people (the kind who have monstrous stereos in shitty little hatchback cars) do. A lot of people seem to revel in volume for its own sake, perhaps just getting a kick (pun) out of the primal thump of bass. I like loud music so I can hear it properly, and be surrounded by it.

+1
Needs to be reasonably loud to appreciate it fully but theres excessiveness as well. Once you reach that level louder is not necassary.

depends what we are talking about in terms of volume. if we are talking about very very very low volume, of course there is no point in having quality...

the thing is that too many people actually think that

more watts = more quality...

lolz
