I've been there before but it was about 8-10 years ago when the Millennium Force was in it's first year, and I've been dieing to go back since. So we went to Cedar Point for 2 days on Monday & Tuesday, and I must say it is still definitely the BEST theme park I've ever been too!
If you have never been there, you are missing out!
We drove 6 hours from Toronto across the Peace Bridge in Buffalo on Sunday and spent 3 nights camping at Camp Sandusky and drove home on Wednesday through Detroit and along the 401 which is also 6 hours.
We spent Monday and Tuesday at the park. People often ask why we spent 2 days... because it basically takes 2 days to do everything in the park, and if you want to get on 1 rollercoaster more than once, you NEED 2 days!
The newest rides since I was there last are the Wicked Twister, Top Thrill Dragster and The Maverick. I'm really at a loss for words to describe how technology has changed the way rollercoasters are built and the magnitude the come too. I really can't describe the feelings these rollercoasters gave me and I'm still in shock days later that I actually went on rides like this.
I encourage everyone to check out Cedar Point sometime this summer. We went on a Monday & Tuesday because the line-ups are not as long, but we still waited 2 hours to get on the Millennium Force, but everything else was about an hour long... I couldn't imagine what lineups would be like on the weekends, ugh.

You won't want to go back because Cedar Point is so much better.
lol anywhere that has rides is fun, Cedar point has bigger roller coasters compared to Wonderland but it's not going to stop you from going. The rides still give G forces and scare you regardless if you've been to Cedar Point or not. I've been to both places as well as Skydiving, and I still have fun on any rides lol.

Cedar Parks owns wonderland now, and they built the behemoth. Dont be surprised if you see more good developments at wonderland in the future.

Cedarpoint is the best park evar. Make sure you try riding the Dragster on the front seat. I was completely blown away despite the ride only lasting a little under 7 seconds lol..
Wonderland suffered for years under the management of Paramount. One can only hope that CedarFair will put some gusto in its rides. Behemoth is a great start to that.

I haven't been to Cedar Point in about 10 years or more but I agree that the park is absolutely stunning! There IS a reason that is was voted the #1 amusement park in the entire world 10 years in a row.
I was planning on going last year to check out Top Thrill Dragster but it fell through. When I worked at Wonderland last season I used to tell people that were talking about how awesome Behemoth was that TTD had approximately twice the drop height, twice the speed and and it was literally 90 degrees up and down. Most people didn't believe me

Completely agreed that Paramount ruined Wonderland. They pretty much bought the park, installed Top Gun and never added another awesome ride during the remaining 11 years they owned the park. I was so happy when I heard Cedar Fair bought Wonderland (and the 4 other Paramount Parks in the States). Unfortunately for anyone waiting for Wonderland to build a coaster that is taller than Behemoth will be disappointed. One of the managers told me last year that they built Wonderland in 'fly zone' for airplanes so they aren't allowed to build anything than around 250 ft Doesn't mean they can't build rides that are faster though

I remember some rumor like 5 years ago that wonderland was moving to niagara. Guess it wasnt true but that would certainly solve the height restriction issue!

I remember that rumour as well. It's been officially put to rest but they'd honestly be smart to do that even though it would suck having to travel so far to go. Wonderland's property value has skyrocketed since they built the park. I read that if they were to sell the land they'd have enough money to build 5 Canada's Wonderlands of the same size
p.s. - anyone thinking of going to Cedar Point should get a Cedar Fair Platinum Pass. For about $150 you get free access to any Cedar Fair park (Canada's Wonderland here and about 10-15 parks in the states). King's Island is another awesome park in Ohio and is only a couple hours from Cedar Point. They house the longest wooden roller coaster in the (The Beast) that opened in 1979.

And every other theme park for the most part. I too was fortunate enough to grow up so close to Cedar Point, so it takes a lot to impress me on a rollercoaster these days.
I heard about Cedar Fair buying Wonderland a long time ago, and it was the best thing that could have ever happened to Wonderland. I suspect great things to happen in the next few years...but nothing will top Cedar Point! (At least in North America)

100% correct. And what did the ignorant people say when Cedar Fair took over?
"Top Gun is called Flight Deck now? That's so fucking gay. Cedar Fair sucks"
