Putting Tracks On Soundcloud Vs. Getting Signed To A Label

Question for you ladies and gents:

After many years of trial and error I finally have a couple of tunes which I feel good enough about to release. Of course, I want to put them on Soundcloud, but my question is do I make them downloadable or not?

The obvious advantage in doing so is that anyone can download the track to DJ or just listen to casually. However, does this affect its potential to get signed to a label? I mean, would a label frown on the fact that it has already been downloaded "x" number of times and look at this as a loss in value?

On the other hand, if I do make it downloadable the track can increase in popularity more so than if its not. I mean, who's really going to go on soundcloud and listen to a track 10 times? lol Only if you REALLY love it.

Prematurely releasing your track will just cause it to be old news before you're ready.

If you want to release it best thing is to share it first to the label you want to sign it to. Of course you can upload a afjljdfbsdjgbsdfjgb file so people can review it first but by the time you send the file to them there should not be evidence on the internet.

If the marketing scheme was so simple i'd not be talking with you, well maybe i would but sitting on my private jet. I am sure that signing to small labels won't make you go anywhere by its own but don't expect either to get signed by a big label without previous works on smaller labels.

And the "Free for all design" well this is great if you find your own way to market yourself but you are refusing:

-Radio airplay
-Djs playing your tracks.
-Beatport or charts.

What is the point in releasing a track that is freely downloadable through soundcloud? Anyways, do whatever you want, if your track is good enough you might get some fans through free downloads or you can sign your track, both options work. Or your track is shit and will end up at the endless pile of on beatport.
