SIR reverb plugin...yes, again

Hey everyone, anyone had this problem of latency delay when you have your midi routed to a send channel with a SIR instance loaded in it? Such a great plugin with such an awkward bug..
Also anyone can recommend an alternative to SIR?

I think the OP is looking for a convolution verb based on impulse responses, these plug-ins are algorithmic verbs, even though they are very good they work differently. IR verbs tend to have more natural reflections as they are based on real impulse responses from real spaces. Although the 480L is supposed to have quite a natural sound too, but then again this is the reverb that made Lexicon what it is.

For convolution reverbs I'd probably check out Waves IR1 or Altiverb, both very good.

VirSyn Reflect's early reflections are impulse based afaik.

Yeah should have had a look into that. I'd never heard of it myself, but it looks promising.

But then again I really don't trust claims like, "The resulting density and smoothness rivals those of the most expensive hardware reverbs".

Guess I should try it sometime, and find out for myself.

there are latency plugin tools that can do the math and adjust what ever plugins are not accounted for by your DAW. I can't remember the name and i'm out of town but i will edit this post when i find out the name. Costs like 15$.

Liquidsonics has a pretty cheap impulse verb.
Nebula is more but fantastic for everything including reverbs
VSL hybrid is probably overkill.
Altiverb 7 is also probably overkill.

I'm a fan of IR verbs. Chain with an algorithm verb and you can get great results. There are tons of free IRs from units like the Bricasti and post production styled in the bath tub type stuff.
