I am working on a 12 track music album and I want to release my music myself.
What is the best digital music distributors service for a small independent label?
How much would it cost?

There's a Finnish startup doing free distribution (they don't even take a cut from sales). It's free only for artists, not labels. That should be sufficient to get you onto iTunes for instance but probably not Beatport (I don't think they work with them). Have a look around .

Personally I use a distributor I pay per release. They're close to home, have plenty of expertise, great service and a personal contact person.
