Amusing anecdote - on NYE I was DJing at a house party to a crowd mostly in their 20s. I was playing trance and prog at around 132bpm and everyone was loving it. It was the most fun I've had DJing all year, actually. Then a couple of new people arrived and this new girl came over to me while I was midway through playing the Maruwa Remix of Catz 'N Dogz you've used in your newest mix and she asked me: "Have you got any trance?" I was literally speechless. Like, is this not trance?
So it turns out DJ Heartstring was the kind of stuff she wanted. And that stuff ain't for me. It's fun and all that, but really this is just repeating all the downsides of the '90s all over again. I like a dose of euphoria in my music, but you've got to earn it. That kind of trance is a non-stop sugar rush. It's ice cream for starter, main and dessert.

GU:013 Ibiza, no. Kevin & Perry Go Large, yes. We've literally just got decent trance music back. Can we please try to avoid picking up the Monopoly card saying "Proceed straight to Alice Deejay. Do not pass Go" immediately?
You know what? That particular track isn't bad. I wouldn't play it myself but it's got a certain Bicep-esque pathos to it, one for when the sun's coming up. Some of their other tunes are a lot more naff.

Only Ive heard (had to google the dude). Felt it had a nice balearic chord progression, but maybe kinda simplistic, there should be some more automation on the vox pulling it on a journey, or something... some sprinkles and a stab would be noice, but could pull that from the track youre mixing in or or out off of...

I think this one is the closest one to trance I heard.
They call their music Trance Dance Music, not sure why to call it something which a least to old folks like me sounds familiar.
To me their music is more Eurodance inspired which actually can be all over the place.
