After going to Ministry of Sound a month ago my ears were ringing for three days straight. Pretty sure I did some permanent damage, then, and I'm not happy with my drunk self for doing so. Thankfully things seem to be okay, now, but I definitely thought about getting earplugs after that.

Huh. I thought the Ministry was supposed to have an absolutely ninja system. How did Fabric's measure up? It's often bandied around in "best soundsystem in the world" discussions.

Well, Ministry wasn't their fault. I was hammered drunk and was right in front of a stand of speakers for maybe two hours, maybe more. Truly not my proudest hour, and I deserve any damage I did.

Fabric's sound was pretty fucking excellent. Not as loud as I wanted in Room 3, where Levon Vincent was, which was an odd complaint, but good quality. Perfectly loud, perfectly clear in Room 1 with whomever the main performer was. Didn't do any damage whatsoever that I noticed - I was even able to hear in the cab back home!

I really need to go back to MoS sober(ish) to actually appreciate it. Maybe when Matt's back in town and there is some Paul Van Dyk event . Fabric was definitely my favorite of the two, though - hands down.

I've been out in London a couple of times but never been to either of them. I'm not really in a rush with Ministry because the line-ups are usually terrible. I would, of course, like to go to Fabric but I've heard a lot of bad stories about the club being full of idiot tourists and the doormen being extremely zealous with their search policy.

A fool-proof plan for about four hours.

Jesus fucking Christ, normally you need to pay double to get touched the way the doorman touched me.

I went to MoS mostly because it IS MoS, and because this girl I have a thing for wanted to go

As I said, the crowd at Fabric was pretty annoying, but the music was good. I'll definitely go back, but I need to go out in other places around here now that I'm settled in. I'm mostly looking out for specifc artists, not locations. Debating seeing Dense & Pika next Thursday... we'll see. I keep especialy looking out for either DjRum or Scuba to play here, but neither has been in town yet.

Honestly, it was kind of weird. He put his hands into my pants and literally touched my penis, but he didn't actually check my pockets. I so easily could have brought drugs in - if I wanted to risk my Visa status.

Wow, that sounds wretched. There must be some sort of system there, I can't imagine Fabric being drug-free.

I think it's mainly about knives and concealed weapons. Apparently the people inside selling drugs are extremely sketchy bastards. Who knows how they get through. None of it is very PLUR, either way.

As I said, many people came up to me and offered me molly, and many people were clearly on something. I told the first person who approached me, jokingly, that I'd buy MDMA but not Molly and when he tried explaining how pure it was I told him to fuck off, which seemed to confuse him. After that, though, we definitely got harassed maybe once every 15 minutes, while we were in the main room.

Crowd was definitely the worst part
