It's an outdoor block party in Modesto in it's 8th year. But I think they are not exclusive to EDM. I believe there are a lot of bands too and other forms of entertainment involved.

THe X-Fest contains mainly rock bands but I think Sir Mix-A-Lot or Vanilla Ice was here last year. I'm from Modesto but never went to one of these X-fest events before but if they brought more DJs or EDM then I might check it out. 5 or 6 blocks in downtown is blocked off and attracts quite a crowd. It's a huge event for the locals here.
