B-Zet - Everlasting Pictures (Right Through Infinity) [1995]
Paula Cole - I Don't Wanna Wait [1996]
the first reminded me of the second the first time i heard it. of course the paula cole track is more "poppy" in that it tries to pull your emotions out of you more. everlasting pictures is very emotional as well, but somewhat less than i don't wanna wait. my guess is because while the 303(?) is in the foreground and the piano is in the background on EP, the piano melody is really prominent in IDWW. and let's face it, acid isn't quite as emotive as a nice piano ballad. everything else in each track is pretty equal. both breakbeat, both have flighty chords in the background, both have fairly large smattering of vocals. the content of the vocals in both evoke or attempt to evoke nostalgia in the listener.
