KT was fantastic. I remember hearing Jody Wistenstorf - Cold Drink, Hot Girl (Original Mix) from outside Barcode when I was just getting in. There was an enormous line so I paid a dude 20 to jump it so I could hear KT. He played a remix of Chasing Cars which was cool because my friend is currently working on a remix of that track and I've been helping him with it. Good stuff. I was disappointed I missed as much of his set as I did.
Then Oakey comes on at 12:30ish. I think his second track was Goldfrapp - Ooh La La (Bennasi Bros Remix) which was soon followed a ridiculous Randy Katana track, I want to say One Solid Wave, and there was a Fred Baker track in there which sounded like Eclipse, but I didn't recognize it well because I only am familiar with the Lunar Mix. Later he dropped Fred Baker - Total Blackout. Yeah It was a Hard techy set. More like a PvD or Ferry LEF set than what I am used to hearing. And of course he played Southern Sun and Faster Kill Pussycat and some other Oakey tracks. Towards the end he dropped DJ Shog's remix of Greece, the third time I've seen him drop that live and every time I go crazy. I fear there were a few toes stepped upon.
It was awesome seeing Oakenfold play 20 minutes from where I grew up.
More awesome was giving Oakenflold my studio sessions I mix and watching him walk away with it in hand. Tried to do that with Oakey in Toronto, but last time he just signed ten of the cds and handed them out to random clubbers.
