Idea Will vinyl become cool and take over?

Vinyl is still the format of choice amongst some djs.But as we all know the standard for most is now mp3s and such.Does any one see vinyl becoming popular and faddy in the near future?I've read some say that vinyl is what alot of labels are pushing, and i've always heard others say the contrary. From what i've seen many labels still produce vinyl releases while other labels have gone fully digital.I personally think lots of labels will never stop producing vinyl because it's binded to the soul of djing.

Probably not. It's too expensive and fewer songs are available on vinyl than on digital. I'm sure some DJs, older ones and a few new ones who like to feel connected to the "roots" of EDM in their craft, will continue to use it.

That might be. They'll probably become rarer and rarer as the dance music market becomes more and more focused on everybody (not just DJs) buying singles / albums / etc. People want their stuff cheap.

I like my vinyl. Don't use CD's and mp3's, but with scratch live and other programs where u can play mp3's on your vinyl it keeps it from being obsolete.

Hasn't this been discussed before?

Anyway, vinyl is still cool, but the sales of the same is not so cool anymore and that's what brings vinyl down. Labels seem to have much easier to survive if they deal with online shop-releases mostly because it's much cheaper way to distribute the music. No copies has to be printed, distribution reaches far beyond any local record store ect ect.

Still you don't have that feeling of owning the release since there is no physical item you buy... I know some people who have trouble cooping with that thought.

Vinyl is easy to romanticize for some reason.

A stack of vinyl makes for a far better phallic symbol than an iPod.

Also when you play a vinyl record, I dont know why but it sounds better and has a different feel compared to a CD. If you only play mp3's and CD's then you tend to forget about the feeling, but it comes back.
