The TRAKTOR Team is pleased to announce that a new version of TRAKTOR PRO 2 – version 2.8.0 – is now available for download via Service Center. Among several new features and improvements, version 2.8 introduces support for the new TRAKTOR KONTROL D2 deck controller set for release May 4, 2015. The update is free.

Here is a brief outline of what else is new in this version:

IMPROVEMENTS AND NEW FEATURES
64-BIT APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE
TRAKTOR PRO 2 is now available in 64-bit. In 64-bit, TRAKTOR PRO 2 can access all the available RAM on computers with 64-bit operating systems, increasing performance by allowing more efficient management of items like larger track collections, better playback caching, etc.

Please note: A 32-bit version of TRAKTOR PRO 2 is included in the Windows installer in case you need to run TRAKTOR PRO 2 with hardware that uses 32-bit drivers.

MULTI-PROCESSOR ENHANCEMENTS
TRAKTOR PRO 2’s audio threading model has been updated. Users of multi-processor computers who were experiencing degraded audio performance since TRAKTOR PRO 2.7.0 should no longer experience these issues.
AUTOMATIC DECK FLAVOR SWITCHING
TRAKTOR PRO now features fully automatic deck flavor switching for all users. Loading or dragging a track or Remix Set onto a deck will automatically choose the appropriate deck flavor according to file type.

PARALLEL AUDIO PROCESSING
A new special analysis mode, Parallel Processing uses multiple threads to process many tracks simultaneously at about three times the speed of normal analysis. To enable this, right-click on a track and choose ‘Analyze (Async)’ from the context menu to open the Analysis Window, then select the ‘Parallel Processing’ option.

Spin, scratch, and hold a playing deck with a touch strip
Beatgrid edit mode zoom
Position-aware beatgrid tempo adjustment
Use performance controls as MIDI output controls
GENERAL ENHANCEMENTS
Pioneer CDJ-900NXS and XDJ-1000 integration
Rane MP2015 mixer now Scratch Certified
Additional bugfixes

To install the update, please start the NI Service Center. Open the ‘Update’ tab, make sure the checkbox for TRAKTOR is checked, and click the ‘Download’ button. When the download is finished, just click the ‘Install’ button.

Hmm, I wonder how much it will change performance?

I'm thinking about oing traktor full time now and no one seems to be able (or even try?) to play with serato to get it to work with any soundcard

Did serato have a simaler update in the past or is still 32bit?

Kinda sums it up. tracks will load a bit faster but I suppose that's better than a hammer to the nads.

yeah unless you're running a 16GB ram notebook or higher ... don't bother.

I meant increase as in loading time is larger due to the chunking of data. Probably not noticeable. Perhaps they plan to allow vst which for some reason they haven't. I swear all those German heads hang out at the same coffee shop. It's a no brainer. Might even make some able ton users switch over. SOmetimes I just don't understand why companies are so myopic.

But ya, I see no reason other than they are getting paid and have to do something and being djs perhaps are just kinda stupid ?
