Thumbs down Magik 7 Sucks!!!

Damn am I the only one here who thinks MAGIK 7 sucks....
Almost a month ago i bought Dj Tiesto - Revolution......GREAT CD.Especially when iI heard it for the first time.Couple of weeks later comes (finally) MAGIK 7.I'm all excited and stuff.I dowloaded the CD (not knowing the tracklist)And what do i hear....The first 2 tracks are excact the same as on REVOLUTION.So i keep on listening.hmmz Insigma - Open Your Eyez. Also on REVOLUTION.And at the end I just can't believe what im hearing..3 tracks in a row mixed the exact same way as on REVOLUTION.
------------
Compare The tracklists
------------

Tracklist Dj Tiesto - REVOLUTION

01.The Auronaut - People Want To Be Needed
02.Three Drives - Sunset In Ibiza
03.Goldenscan - Sunrise (pulser Mix)
04.Insigma - Open Your Eyes
05.Airwave - Mysteries Of Life
06.Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Olivier Lieb's Main Mix)
07.Yahel & Eyal Barkan - Voyage
08.Jan Johnston - Flesh (tiesto mix)
09.Riva - Stringer
10.Moogwai - Labyrinth Part 1
11.M.I.K.E. - Sunrise At Palamos
12.Dj Tiesto - Flight 643 (original mix)
13.Green Martian - Industry
14.Planisphere - Moonshine
15.Push - Strange World (2000 Remake)

-----------------------------------------------
Tracklist Dj Tiesto - MAGIK 7 - Live In Los Angeles.

01.The Auronaut - People Want To Be Needed
02.Three Drives - Sunset In Ibiza
03.Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (Humate Remix)
04.Ballroom - Come Along!(Chrome Mix)
05.Insigma - Open Your Eyez
06.Jan Johnston - Flesh (Dj Tiesto Mix)
07.Riva - Stringer
08.M.I.K.E. - Sunrise At Palamos
09.Push - Strange World (2000 Remake)
10.Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Olivier Lieb's Main Mix)
11.Mario Piu A.K.A. Dj Arabesque - Bass Control
12.Dj Tiesto - Flight 643 (original mix)
13.Green Martian - Industry
14.Planisphere - Moonshine
15.Cj Bolland - The Prophet
----------------------------

CONCLUSION:11 Same songs are used for 2 cd's within a few months & 5!! tracks are mixed the exact same way on 2 DIFFERENT CD'S.Three Drives - Sunset In Ibiza was played by Johan gielen last year at TRANCE ENERGY.Why still use this older song,Is tiesto out of vinyls?Same for:Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (Humate Remix). In my eyes MAGIK 7 is a COPY of REVOLUTION...And because REVOLUTION was first.......MAGIK 7 SUCKS!!!

GREETZ!!

That's what I said about Tiesto a couple of weeks/months ago...his sets are boring cuz he should get some new material...boy!! I was flamed for that!! haha
If you d/l a couple of his last year livesets..they almost all contained the same intro, tunes and stuff...just too lame...
and u know what TA peeps said to me? well, if you have great records..it's normal to play the same set for 2 weeks..d00d..2 weeks? 1 YEAR!!!!!!
(still love his interaction though)

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but when making a compilation, don't you have to obtain licenses to be able to mix certain tracks for publication on a CD? Tiesto's livesets are always awesome, as he may have the full freedom to play what he wants, but on a compilation it may be different. Hmmmm...Just a thought...

Well bellie I think you are right. I don't think magik 7 is bad not at all but its a fact that tiesto uses the same songs over and over again. And for magik 7 he could use some newer material.

but I have to say when I'm mixing, I use the same songs in lots of sets, well sets played in my room

And I have enough good material.
I think the way tiesto plays is very good to play in a club.

About magik 7, the title is wrong. Its a very good mix, but its not magik. Magik 6 can be called magik (lots of softer tunes, not 1 hard one)

magik 7 is better to play in a club
and magik 6 is better to listen to at home

i havent heard revolution, but ive had this beef w/ tiesto for some time now. you can... "not" hear a set of his for 2, 3 months and he'll still be playing many same songs.

unlike armin, who isnt as technically skilled, but who's track selection shows risk-taking and variety..

cmon, tiesto, you're the king... dont start (or rather, keep) recycling!

actually pvd would be the king but you know what i mean

Although I don't own Magik 7 yet, I have heard it, and I own Revolution and I can honestly say Magik 7 is better! Mainly because Revolution was recorded in mono, what the fuck's up with that shit?! So what if some of the tracks are similar though, they were done around the same time, n Tiesto really likes those tunes! But I have to agree that he hasn't really been impressin me with track selection much! But I'm still a huge Tiesto fan, either way!!

And yeah I agree that the whole Magik feel has left the series, I wish Tiesto would've kept things a lil more lighter, even Magik 6 was pushing it!! Oh well, it's all good!

hey u can spend only 20 bucks on that cd if u willing to sell it to me for 10 bucks =]

and the thing abouttiesto playing the same in live sets...well i dont think its meant to be heard to the outter outter public because not all ppl in the clubs listen to it..and not like there are lots of new tunes that are great he has to use the same songs...i mean if he was playing the same tunes over and over in ONE CLUB then that will be different but remember this is separate clubs.
